Was Albert Einstein an atheist ?
Posted on Tuesday, 28 July, 2009| 6:02 | Comments: 71

Nivin Thundiyil: Most people don't know enough about him but might still want to lean towards placing him in a religious light, especially if they are aware of some of these famous quotes by Albert Einstein floating around the web and elsewhere:

[b]"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind."

"I am convinced that He (God) does not play dice."

"God does not care about our mathematical difficulties. He integrates empirically."

The efficacy of “paranormal” investigations
Posted on Sunday, 26 July, 2009| 5:47 | Comments: 1

Marco M. Pardi: Can investigations into Near Death Experiences and related “paranormal” phenomena be considered science? Perhaps, as is so common, the answer is in the question. As Isaac Asimov reportedly said, “The most exciting sound in science is not ‘Eureka’ (I have found it), but ‘That’s funny’”.

Aside from a 23 year career in the premier American medical research institution, the U.S. Federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), I have spent 10 years in full time and 8 years in part time university and college tea... (More..)

Spindle City Market investigation
Posted on Friday, 24 July, 2009| 4:30 | Comments: 1

ISIS Investigations: The ISIS Paranormal Investigations team investigated the building adjacent to the Spindle City Market on Ontario Street which is presently used for storage. The team received permission to investigate the location from the present owner, John Nolan, who was also available for an in-depth interview. The Spindle City Market is situated minutes away from the Hudson River; the building is 145 years old, has had numerous owners, and was built in 1864. The location has never been blessed or spiritually cleansed, and co... (More..)

Flash in the pan
Posted on Wednesday, 22 July, 2009| 4:08 | Comments: 4

Mark Dohle: There is a book entitled “Old age is not for sissies”. I remember seeing it when I was young and found the title amusing and the pictures and stories inside informative. Though still being in my early thirties, it did not really make much of an impact on me. For I thought I had an almost infinite amount of time before I became old.

When young I lifted weights, did power yoga, seeking to put forth an image of strength that fooled me at the time, though if I fooled anyone else, I have my doubts. Of course w... (More..)

The invisible porcupine man of Sedona
Posted on Monday, 20 July, 2009| 4:57 | Comments: 10

Paul Dale Roberts: Sedona Facts: Just like Mount Shasta or Skinwalker Ranch, Sedona is a place that is considered mystical. People have made claims that they have seen angels, UFOs, ghosts, shadow people, etc. Many people with New Age beliefs will flock to Sedona. They seek out enlightment. A total of 3.5 million visitors stop at Sedona on a daily basis.

I believe there are many mystical centers on Earth. Mount Shasta, Sedona, the Pyramids of Giza, Mount Shasta, the Bermuda... (More..)

Some seriously haunted cemeteries
Posted on Saturday, 18 July, 2009| 4:37 | Comments: 4

Nancy Bradley: As I have said many times before, rarely to never will you find a spirit in a cemetery among the rotting remains of what and who. You are much more likely to find spirits in the places they loved in life, their homes, fishing on a river, and it is not even uncommon to find a person who was a workaholic in life still hanging around their office. But sometimes, just sometimes, you will find a wayward spirit in a cemetery.

One such case was a man named Malcolm that we encountered in a New York Cemetery. ... (More..)

Nostradamus, Obama and 2012
Posted on Thursday, 16 July, 2009| 4:48 | Comments: 29

Patrick Bernauw: Nostradamus strikes again. Google “Obama”, “Antichrist”, 2012… and I predict you will get a massive number of hits. There are circulating on the worldwide web some really idiotic but also possibly dangerous rumours, featuring Nostradamus, Barack Obama, Antichrist III and the End of the World (2012). The theories are extremely silly, undoubtedly. But they get quite dangerous too when you think of the idiots who might be taking some action, just because of that sort of rumours. They created already an “Osama Obam... (More..)

The meaning of Dallas
Posted on Tuesday, 14 July, 2009| 4:23 | Comments: 4

William B Stoecker: In 1963, the midpoint of the final, terrible century of the age, the century that began in 1913 and will end on 12/21/2012, someone shot President John Kennedy. They shot him in Dallas, within a degree of the thirty third parallel (33 is a very important number to the Freemasons), near the Trinity River. They shot him on 11/22, numbers that add up to thirty three. Every poll taken since then shows that a majority of Americans, and, indeed, anyone with his eyes ... (More..)

Two trees
Posted on Sunday, 12 July, 2009| 5:09 | Comments: 12

Mark Dohle: We have a sidewalk here going East and West laid in different colors of stone… black, and tan and white ending in a little cul-de-sac. Very tiny actually, connected to another sidewalk going North and South. I often like to walk there in the early morning, long before the sun shows it rays.

In the far past, perhaps about 30 years ago, two trees were planted at this spot, where the two sidewalks meet. Corentine was Paul’s assistant; Paul being the one in charge of the placement of plants around the area. .... (More..)

The paper economy
Posted on Friday, 10 July, 2009| 4:14 | Comments: 4

Phillip Tilley: A lot of people have lost their jobs due to the recent depression, but an inordinate amount of job losses have come from the paper economy. What do I mean by that? The economy is really an oversized game of rock-paper-scissors. In the game of rock-paper-scissors, three hand gestures are used. A fist represents rock, an open hand represents paper and the index and middle fingers separated like a sideways peace sign represents scissors. In the game, two opponents count out loud to three, then extend one of the ha... (More..)
