Twas to be
an auspicious night
Alighted from divine ageless shroud of inherited memories
but inauspicious sparkling delights hold ransom a blighted moon
smoldering behind a garish dirty veil of unspeakable smoke
a valley in flames dances in abandon merriment
a celebration of all things usually unwishable
Twas to be promised
a passion of all earthly delights
why, even the cymbals sang and did not cry
camel tails stewed in crowded bronze pot filled of a fortune in spices
but the wines raised a wind of a storm
a virgin bride cast aside
weathered a looming comedic dance to a lonely chamber inside
Twas promised to be a
cherished occasion of all sweared and sworn
A night of matrimony an auspicious night
a dutiful virgin bride left unseen behind modest veil
cried to the horrific heaving of a drunken snore
