The Ancients

And yes...I haven't forgotten about today's Blog entry...simply postponed it till sanity settled on my day.

Sanity settling, I watched a program on the ancient people's ability to build 'mega structures'with what we perceive as primitive technology.  Yet when looking at what they constructed it seems that we should stand in awe of what they have achieved with the limited materials to their disposal.

A water wheel to transport water from the bottom of the hill to the top.  Using the same principle in a mine where they were actively mined in.  This time, the mine had chambers at different levels, every level had a water wheel.  So to keep the mine from flooding they actually had slaves on the wheels moving the water from one chamber to the other and at last out of the mine.

I have to stand in awe and respect the fact that the foundation that they have laid with their inventions have been the motivation for us to even better each invention.

The wisdom and knowledge that these people had is astounding, they constantly challenged themselves in the bettering of situations and their every day lives.

What does tickle my funny bone is the fact that we glance at the ruins today and we fill in the missing building pieces of those ruins with our concept of what could have been there.  If you look at the ruins themselves it takes a lot of thinking and possibly a little dabbling in the imagination aspect to fill in the blanks.  Don't get me wrong, the fact that they could cut through solid rock that it looks like a knife through butter is awesome, yet we don't know without doubt what they used that space for.  We can linger on possibilities...

That being said..we assume the ancient technology to have been behind our technology in terms of electronics (agreed they might have been) but imagine if you can the world they had to construct for those ruins to be a reality today.  They seem very far from the theory of evolution as perceived by some.  My reasoning is that if they were so evolved to build these mega constructions we have to ask ourselves what happened for that era to have been erased.  Theories are many, and vast.

I think humans are just as clever now as in the ancient days. Back then they had to use hard physical labor to accomplish the projects they conceived. Today we have cleverly designed machines and technologies to accomplish the projects that we conceive..
