Look before you leap...

... or how I nearly curried a cat.

Those of you that have read earlier entries will be aware that I had a battle of wits with cats. Zeta kept stealing my seat and Nyana kept jumping on the cooker when the glass lid was closed. Eventually I won this battle.

Earlier this week Zeta decided to start a new battle. She decided it was her turn to sleep on top of the cooker. This time it nearly had tragic consequences.

On Monday I had just completed cooking a nice Thai Green Chicken Curry. I had placed it on the table and was just collecting my cup of tea. The wok, still with a fair amount of hot curry in it was pushed to the back of the hob. At this point Zeta came charging in through the cat flap, straight through the kitchen and leapt, without looking, straight onto the cooker. She seemed to realise in mid-flight that she was in trouble. As she landed she attempted to stop herself falling into the wok. As her front end came to an abrupt halt her back end carried on moving. She very nearly somersaulted into the wok. Fortunately she managed to avoid falling into the wok... just.

This experience has at least scared her out of jumping on the cooker again... for now.

So, how many lives has she lost Waspie(or have left)?

Zeta is usually the sensible cat, but she was run over when she was young so she's lost a few (she's 15 years old now).

Nyana on the other hand must have 900 hundred lives.
