Moderates in Islam

Posted by Pinky Floyd  , 04 February 2008 - 08:05 PM

It seems to me that most of the moderate muslims that I hear from are just in plain old denial that there is something horribly wrong with their religion and frankly, continuing to point out nuances in books is not going to a thing about it. They mostly just shrug their collective shoulders and act like nothing is wrong or that these guys that are flying planes into buildings and islamic dads that kill their daughters after they become 'too western' (after the farkin' moron moves to the west no less..) are not real muslims and they should be ignored or whatever..

I have yet to hear a good solution about what to do about the clash of civilizations from a muslim..(except that we need to be more tolerant..)

Hello..Earth calling...I and many other westerners as well, have run out of 'tolerance' so that's a dry well you're trying to tap from. From the murder of Theo VanGogh, the international subjugation of women, to the hanging of a 16 year-old mentally ill girls executed corpse (murdered by the islamic government for 'moral turpitude') in Tehran, to the rioting about the danish cartoons, blah, blah, blah...This list goes on and on..The islamic religion goes out of it's way to prove it is from the dark ages..The truth hurts..Deal with it. And do something about it besides saying that you would not "hang around them for very long.." That's the very passivity that has gotten your religion into this mess. YOU (as 'real' muslims) must confront and displace this scum..The moderate muslim needs to infiltrate and destroy, bringing entire groups to justice that would harbor this malignant hate. This needs to happen world-wide. If you don't, let them get some nukes, and 50 or so years (if that long) from now, WW3 will last about a day or so..tens of millions on both sides will most likely die..All in the name of a God whose existence cannot even be proven... sad.gif

You guys need to pull your collective heads from your collective butts and that stupid book and realize that we don't share the same value for mohammed and the koran as you do..Personally, I think mohammed was a fraud and that the koran is just a book of fables that a man or group of men (not an angel amongst them either) wrote and it was shoveled down many throats during it's infancy by force. I'm a Deist; spare me your ridiculous passages from your worthless book. I'm not buying it, but that is just my opinion..If God has a problem with that, he'll deal with me.

[truth] In many islamic countries for even just saying what I just posted could get me the death penalty. [/truth]

But since the islamic faith seemingly has no faith in said God..It's up to some nimrod with a bomb screaming (of all things) 'Allah Akbar!' or a group of clerics babbling about how God was insulted (like they really have a clue) whilst issuing a fatwah to met out my punishment. What possibly justifies this intolerant arrogance in a modern world?

Spare me the details of how it is a 'tolerant' religion either. This religion can't even handle my benign but dissenting words, it does not tolerate apostacy whatsoever (which brings in the whole question of freedom of choice-something God gives but islam does not). Meanwhile, European muslims cannot tolerate a single picture of their dingle berry boy mohammed, Saudi Arabia cannot tolerate Bibles being brought within it's moronic borders and as the coup de grāce, the Sunni and the Shia cannot even tolerate each other..How in the Hell are they supposed to tolerate us?

Hint: They don't.. They come to the west expecting us to change towards them.

Hello average muslim: Get a grip on reality..but first get a grip of your own religion. And then your entire religion needs to get a grip of reality. Take it back now...or deal with the fact that you may have lost your religion already due to your ongoing collective apathy towards the radicals..either way...

The islamic religion has a long, long ways to go..

(and it seems to be going in reverse at the moment..)

Why not Guiliani? Everyone else sucks...

Rudy wins by default. He's not perfect, but he just isn't as crappy as the others...

Our system has failed..it's broken..and for us to just keep voting far lefties and far rights isn't going to work.

He's an a$shole..granted...most CEO's and highly sucessful people are. Personally, I'm tired of politcians that will say anything/do nothing..Give me someone that will tell the truth irregardless if some cannot handle it. He's from the streets of NYC and still acts like it sometimes. I still don't see the problem with this. As brutal as its sounds; honesty without regard to feelings is something we are sadly lacking in our leaders. I want honesty. I'm tired of Slick Willies and WMD obscufications.

Rudy's personal life is really not my thing...I want results in fixing what we have..the current politicians are guilty of just about the same actions..they are just better at getting away with it...I want a presidential leader, not a saint..To tell yo the truth, I don't care if it's his 3rd wife or 13th..There are many people who are really good at leadership and suck at marriage. Lincoln did not have a pleasant marraige-He suffered terribly from depression because of a bad marraige he could not leave. Rumor he was a pretty decent leader anyways..I have a feeling Rudy is one of them too. He just did leave..Instead of keeping alive the facade of having a valid marriage, just for public approval and political gain. Not that there is a current candidate that fits that description. disgust.gif

In running a major metropolis if 10 million, especially doing so in high crime localities during a time of much higher crime rate than at the present, and attempting to clean it up as well, yeah, I'm sure there is some horror stories about botched raids and harrassment. You have that in every major city. NYPD under Guiliani was no different than just about any other major city from coast to coast. How do you control crime and clean up a tough city? Sometimes you gotta get tough and do what you gotta do.

Our current politicans are corrupt and morally bereft. Both of the two parties are both more interested in the well being and power advancement of their respective parties than the good of this nation. To me, it's borderline sedition what the two parties get away with. I'm sick of them both. The lefties will have us blowing the world and the righties will have us blowing the world up...How about someone who will lead with common sense, guts and honesty-even if that honesty might not be real popular with the media. I get that feeling from Rudy. I don't get that feeling when I look at any other candidate (except prehaps Leiberman). I look at all the others and see continued quagmire, pandering and stagnation. Another 4 years of promises to be different when it's more of the same. Far left vs far right and the average American in the middle taking the brunt of their stupidity. I wouldn't believe this government if both the House and Senate issued a joint statement declaring water to be wet..

Some say he's a power-hungry and self-absorbed authoritarian. In some jobs, these are traits we might need from time to time. Many said the same about many presidents we have had. I think he's a tough guy that makes hard decisions that are for the public good and not the media pleasure or the far-lefts or the far-rights agreement..

Gun control in major cities might be a good thing. Unfettered access to handguns in major cities is arguably not working. It has had some effect and proving to have worked in NYC. Gun control in major cites (getting permits) is certainly better than the plan we have now..I'm for it.. I would have no problems getting a permit.. Why? I'm not a felon..

Homosexual couples (whether you feel they are morally repugnant or not) need some legal binding to allow them the benefits of insurance and property rights as a couple. Common sense and the need for equality for hard working American's. I don't care who they are in bed with (as long as it's not a child..)

Women's rights are needed, but up to a point. There can be a happy medium on this issue. Outlawing abortions isn't going to work, and partial birth abortions are arguably barbaric..There can and should be some give and take here. This is going to be this issue no matter who you vote in...Nobody I see is being close to perfect..

So..

Rudy has my vote...(simply by default..but with politics nowadays, that's all it takes..)

What does Gore want from America?

Posted by Pinky Floyd  , 13 March 2007 - 12:03 AM

I believe in global warming. It is happening. No arguments here. My beef is with the Kyoto treaty. It's simply not inclusive enough.

By not incorporating 2.5 billion people who will far outstrip the wests' CO2 output over the next 20 years (China is set to overtake the US in CO2 production in a few months), and allowing them to use fossil fuels unabated while constricting our use of them, smacks of collusion in the worst way. If the nations and the world bank are really serious about CO2 reduction, there should be demands for all nations to be involved with it. I'll say this again; allowing China and India to use fossil fuels to play 'catch-up' with the west, will not only accomplish nothing, but given the sheer number of industrialized people not included in this treaty, it instead will be an ecological nightmare. Just what is Mr. Gore proposing? Letting two and a half billion people make billions of tons of CO2 simply to let their economies flourish (at the expense of the environment) while western economies sputter, when the orginial supposed intent of the treaty is to limit total human output of CO2 and not economic favoritism??? (Which it blatently is now BTW). It is no secret that Al Gore has always been friendly with the chinese. Remember Ron Brown? Combine this with that and you've got out and out economic sedition.

Why not include them in Kyoto (and get America and the rest of the west on board) and let them build their economies with the new green technologies and actually reduce human CO2 output over the next 20 years? Instead of exponentially exasberate the problem by allowing the two population behemouths to really get up and running and then show the world how to really destroy the environment?

CO2 reduction will never work until China and India are included. Period. Just look at the population numbers and the fact that they have just gotten started on the industrialization of thier nations and meanwhile, personal and family wealth is building quickly in both nations. Arguably, a rise in individual wealth brings a rise in individual CO2 output. And look at the current track record that China has on the environment now. Just wait. Give it 30 years and one billion gasoline burning autos later...(and that will be just the Chinese contribution).

Again, just what does Mr. Gore want from America? And why doesn't he want the same from the Chinese?

American Isolationism

Posted by Pinky Floyd  , 12 March 2007 - 01:10 AM

I posted it awhile back..I requested it closed due it pretty much playing itself out. It explains my signature. I still believe this should happen:

In another topic, I brought up the subject of America throwing out it's foreign policy and replacing it with a new improved version: Giving the world-especially Europe and the Middle-East exactly what they want. Reduced American presence in everything across the board. Militarily, assistance, trade, travel, etc..in essence: everything. Not suddenly in five or ten years mind you, but gradually over 20 or more years. Continually and gradually reduced to near zero.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about burning bridges. But face facts people. The Europeans (including the UK) don't like us, so why should we bother with it? We are well aware of how our government and military are hated, but not even socially one on one do you like us. For instance; Two good friends of mine just returned from what was to be two weeks in Europe on their honeymoon, but reduced down to nine days due to "Why spend money where everyone hates you and looks at you like they want to kill you.?" (Direct quote) 'J' said that everyone was totally different to him and his new wife as soon as they opened their mouths. These are not loud mouths or braggart Americans. These are two shy, small, charming people who were treated like crap every place they went (Italy, England, France, Belgium)-as soon as the people found out they were vile Americans. They have plenty of money-So I know they definitely didn't go low budget. In essence, 'J' & 'B's $5000 dollar, 9 day mistake proves that The hatred of Bush has spilled over to hatred of all Americans. If you don't think so, I know of two yankees that would beg to differ. And as well, a majority of the posts here on UM are written with subtle (sometimes obvious) anti-american flavor to it. So, hey, it's getting kind of hard to ignore.

Interdependence, free trade and travel will prove to be weaknesses in the coming years and decades as radical Islam makes it's way into western European societies and governments. The across the board cultural and military interdependence we have now will only serve to instill the same elements that England, The Netherlands and France are just beginning to have now with Radical Islam making headway into their western societies, and probably taking control over a period of decades considering that it seems that most 'Euros' don't consider Radical Islam to be a real, viable threat. (Just wait till you have 30 or more percent muslims in your lands-Bye-bye western freedoms, hello sharia...). We don't need that, and you obviously don't need or want us. So what if we went away? Completely? Forever?

Would that make the world better or worse? I know it would hurt the American economy in the short run, but it would adapt, making up lost ground in Alcohol production and manufacturing. And in the long run, I know America would be better off-alot better off, considering the ties we have today might turn out to be anchor lines tomorrow...NATO is no longer needed, the UN is generally more respected than us, and everybody has their own soldiers. Use them instead of ours. Besides, at least we would have a living, breathing, 'working' example that we could point at if we ever wondered why it's not good to change your society in order to appease those immigrating from a society that is radically different...

America should realistically pull out of Iraq and then pull completely out of Europe and most of the rest of the world as well. Militarily, economically, socially and culturally. Since the last fifty years has been a disaster (see reference to pals wedding trip above), what do we have to lose? We don't have any respect, we're generally hated-even on a personal level- it's costing us alot of money, and we just seem to be sliding backwards. Maybe it's time we stayed home for the next 231 years.

Saddam Had WMD's Get over it...

Posted by Pinky Floyd  , 12 March 2007 - 01:10 AM

Let's just forget saving the Kurds while Europe watches and votes that it's not important enough to go in to save them from Saddam for a moment...

I've heard the 'WMD' lie blather so many times, yet when I post Gen. George Sada on the Jon Stewrat show who said point blank to Jon's smug face: 'Yeah I saw them-the WMD's', the post is just ignored like it's not there. If it is acknowledged, it's dismissed as not a credible source.. (Which is just simply classic out-and-out denial). Saddam's cousin was named 'Chemical Ali', and all the while Saddam employed people with the international nicknames of "Dr. Germ" and 'Mrs. Anthrax' which, theoretically, is the most dangerous of all WMD's (for those who have not read 'The Stand')-imagine these people ham-handedly stumbling upon 'Superflu' and accidentally releasing it and killing oh let's say 4-5 billion people? It is so dangerous of a science, not even the US or the Russians do work in the field anymore (officially-however that is always up for contention). And lefties, please don't tell me' oh that couldn't happen' because frankly; you're guessing in stereo 'wishfulvison'-you simply just don't know that it couldn't (and with germ warfare engineering-a single mistake could be catastrophic beyond imagination-well maybe not beyond imagination-read 'The Stand'). A well trained college student with the right equipment and a little gene splicing training at a major college could easily make a hybrid virus of Ebola, Influenza and Smallpox or something even worse. (The Russians have made a similar virus already). Frankly, the left's hopeful wishes/guesses on Saddam's WMD's were just not good enough for the rest of the world. In addition, we still had the images of the 10 or so thousand dead Kurds killed in one day from these 'nonexistant' WMD's and to top it all off, 18 thumbs to the nose to the UN about letting the world verify the 'nonexistence' of these weapons.

Seriously: It would take a terrorist strike that kills 250,000 to convince these people of anything and even then, I really believe that they would still try to pin it on the US or Israel. I'm dead serious. I think some of them would applaud the deaths, maybe not openly, but certainly feel a dark cheer inside over it... Why? Because it would hurt America and more importantly to them: this administration. Hurting George Bush (who's 22 months from unemployment-come hell or high water) is alot more important than stopping a guy, in mass demonstrations, regularly chants "Death to America! Death to Israel!, from manufacturing nukes.

The far-left will simply and convieniently ignore all of these facts, but the still whine about 'lies' because we didn't find a nuke (as I mentioned, the General said the WMD's were shipped to Syria before the war).. That's all we had to go on people. All of this evidence on WMD's and no way at all to verify it. I didn't mention the possibility of nukes because with all of the other methods of mass death available to Saddam, who needs a nuke? At one time, without a shadow of a doubt, Saddam had WMD's coming out his ass (The UN knew about them then) and then he claims he got rid of them all, but refused at least 17 farking times to let the UN verify it...

What are we supposed to do at that point? Just what? Ignore it?? Or yet pass another BS wimpy resolution? All the while this debate was going on for 24 or so months-10,000 or so Kurds died-it would have been much much more if it were not for the 'no fly' zones-which the UN griped about and didn't back enforcement of BTW. (Shooting at Allied planes by Iraq forces in UN no-fly zones not a material breach) If it were not for Israel taking out his uranium production years ago (the UN screamed about it; good thing it was standard impotent UN whining), he would of had a bomb without a shadow of a doubt and the UN would have sat and watched him make it. Saddam was bold enough to invade Kuwait, thumbing his nose at the world, he would of definitely picked a fight with anyone if he had a nuke or three. (The very same denial the UN is mired in now..)

It's the same argument from the same people again and again, ignoring the same things again and again (while never coming up with any better ideas about what to do about anything) It's not mob rule, it's attempted rule by whiny gripeing...If it doesn't fit the paradigm of the far-left, it's simply right wing propoganda created by Bush or Cheney for control of the masses and it is to be dismissed as such... rolleyes.gif
