bardude goes to SCOTLAND

Hey all, as some of you know my hols this year were in bonnie Scotland, you've all been dying to see the pics I'm sure, and I thought I should post proof that I climbed Ben Nevis coz otherwise you'd never believe me!
OK, first up we stayed near here, the Commando memorial in Spean Bridge, possibly the best war memorial you'll ever visit, not least because of its location:

Next up, bardude visits Urquart castle:

Now for the climb up Ben Nevis, here I am all fresh and keen at the base:

Here's the view from about an eighth of the way up:

About a 3rd of the way up we passed Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe, a good 500 metres high:

I've lost track of how high the rest are, I think the altitude was affecting me, so I'll just post pretty pictures with nice views in:

I think right before this one was taken I was saying in that really cheesey voice "Smiiile"

Please take some time to appreciate my purple socks, the ultimate accessory for mountain climbing!

I know what you're thinking, no pyramids, no sphinx, what the hell did I do in Egypt? Well, snorkling of course! Now, with a snorkel on my face looks like this:

Mmmm, I know what you're thinking again - not pretty! But, despite my rediculous appearance, you can take some interesting pics under the sea, and here are a few things that with the help of a waterproof disposable camera I was able to take pictures of:

And of course, I found NEMO!!!
...well, sort of:

More fishy pics coming soon...

Hi all!
Thought I'd do a little run down of my recent trip, to avoid any disappointment I was in Sharm el Sheik on the Red Sea, which means no Pyramids, no Valley of the Kings, in fact nothing whatsoever of any historical or religious value.
So, now I've just put off half my audience from reading any further, I'll continue...
OK first things first, I went with my girlfriend Jemma, here's a few pics of us in Egypt (please excuse the fluffy hair):

Right, now that you're all bored of seeing my face, I'll move on...
See next entry...

Playing by the rules

Found out my mate snogged my ex at the weekend. (Different girl to one mentioned in previous post)
Fantastic.
I remember a time when there were rules, like not going off with your mates ex girlfriends, not breaking up with someone by phone/internet/text message, not dumping someone just to see how they react.
Is it just me, or do people nowadays just seem more spiteful than they used to be?
I'm having one of those "losing my faith in humanity days", perhaps someone can share some wisdom with me and get me back on track

Bardude break-up

*sigh*
Girlfriend broke up with me today,in a text message just as I got to work - classy!
I'm really glad I spent £840 on a holiday to Egypt for two last night, what a wonderful opportunity to spend hundreds of pounds on absolutely nothing.
Ironic thing is, we've broke up because we don't do anything special, the reason I haven't taken her anywhere special is because I was saving for the holiday
If it wasn't so sad it'd be funny!
....so, anyone want to come to Egypt with me?

WARNING! Bushes can be dangerous!

Received £25 of vouchers for being the best barman in the pub last week and went out on Friday and spent the lot, and then £25 of my own money between me and a friend then walked 4 miles home.
She fell in a bush on the way and yesterday pulled a tiny splinter from her hand, today it went septic (or as she told me via MSN - sceptic?! Mmm) and now she has to go to the doctors for antibiotics.
I think there's a lesson for us all about the dangers of the countryside there
...also, with reference to my previous post, my collegue has since paid up his debt of five English pounds due to his ignorance in dolphin physiology.

Hairy dolphins

I recently bet a colleague £5 that dolphins (like all mammals) have hair, he's been laughing all weekend and now I've proved they do he wont pay up....

...back to work

I've got that horrible feeling today, after being on holiday for 5 days I've come back to work, it has to be the most depressing feeling ever.
Like that first day of school after the summer holidays, always the worst.
At the moment, doing nothing is far better than doing something.

Hankering for tea

Don't you just hate it when you go to take a sip of tea, thinking you've got one more mouthfull left and you've drunk it all and forgotten! It really upsets me
Conversely, it's brilliant when you think you've drunk it all and when you look there's half a mug left......but that's not what happened now is it
I'm seriously concered for my sanity
