Star Trek 11 Review
Posted by --Mandalore-- , 10 May 2009 - 02:44 AM
Last night I went and saw JJ Abrams Star Trek and I must say, WOW! It was the best Star Trek I've seen.
This is just a short review so I'll be brief.
The movie was very balanced one IMO, the way the actors portray the original crew, Kirk, Spock, etc. was truly awesome. Chris Pine didn't do an impersonation of Mr. Shatner's Kirk, but yet you knew it was Kirk. Zch Quinto's portrayal off Spock was probably the most like Mr. Nimoys protrayal than any of the other actors. Karl Urban's McCoy was truly awesome, as soon as he started speaking you just knew it was 'Bones'. Simon Pegg's Scotty was probably my favorite by far, I won't spoil anything so you'll have to see the movie to understand. Eric Bana is the main villain in this movie, he's Romulan but that's as far as I'll go about that without spoiling anything, but let's just say he's a 'true' villain in the sense that he's not after wealth or power but in that he wants revenge.
My only negatives would be, it passed by too quickly, lol, and the lens flares, oh the lens flares. At first they were annoying but after a few minutes you don't even notice them because your so drawn into the story, well at least me anyway!
Well that's my quick review, maybe after I've seen the movie more than 5 times I might post a full review.

STAR TREK: 2 Weeks Away!
Posted by --Mandalore-- , 21 April 2009 - 10:02 PM
Well the day is almost here. To quote my friend Nero, "I've been waiting for this day my whole life.... this day of reckoning..."
Well it's not quite a day of reckoning, but more so a day of anticipation! It's now at the two-week point and quite frankly it seems like two years.
Because ever since this movie was greenlighted by Paramount I've been following it very closely. (Because I'm a huge Trekkie of course
!)
I've seen every trailer at least twice if not more, I have the Star Trek Countdown series, which in case you didn't know was a tie in for the new movie by giving a little backstory to the villian and a certain vulcan, and I plan on going to the 7pm showing on May 7th.
Okay, nerdgasm over. For now......hehe
UPDATE: I've added all the trailers (with the exception of the tv spot trailers and the teaser.). Enjoy
Star Trek Trailer #3 - My favorite by far. It just screams, EPIC!
Star Trek Trailer #2
Star Trek trailer #2 (But with Spock!)
There's a few more but they basically show the same footage so I didn't post them here.
