Mother bird on her nest
High up in the tree
Sitting quiet and still
while waiting patiently
For her eggs to hatch
One - two - three
Her babies she'll look after
And love so tenderly
The wind blows all around her
She moves to protect her eggs
And snuggles down to keep them
From falling from the nest
Father bird soars around
High up in the sky
Scanning for food while looking down
He watches with his hawk eyes
On the ground below he spies
A squirrel gathering nuts
Across the field a newborn calf
Beside a pond full of ducks
The farmer tends his land
Riding a tractor, pulling a plough
Seagulls gather to pick out worms
Freshly churned up... just now
But father bird must leave this scene
And return to the nest
To take care of his unborn family
So mother bird can take a well earned rest
They both need to stay fit and well
For when their babies at last arrive
To give them the best start in life
And help them to survive
But as any parent will tell you
This is not an easy task
All they can do....is show them the way
And let Mother Nature do the rest
High up in the tree
Sitting quiet and still
while waiting patiently
For her eggs to hatch
One - two - three
Her babies she'll look after
And love so tenderly
The wind blows all around her
She moves to protect her eggs
And snuggles down to keep them
From falling from the nest
Father bird soars around
High up in the sky
Scanning for food while looking down
