Hey look! I'm blogging!

Posted by orangepeaceful79 , 15 February 2012 · 218 views

It surprises me that I have never tried running a blog before.  After all, I'm full of thoughts, am opinionated as hell, and generally like to write things and get feedback.  This seems like the place to do so.  I guess what remains to be seen is whether I have anything worth a **** to say.

I think today I will start off with something relevant to today's date.  It's valentine's day of course.  The holiday created by our economy to give couples an excuse to buy each other things, all hidden behind the guise of celebrating love.  Sure it's great.  All you couples out there have fun - I wish you the best.

I'm broke and single on this Valentine's day 2012.  So not much fun so far, but life is what you make of it, and I am making a blog, dammit!

So c'mon.....tell me 'bout v-day in your neck of the woods.

All I can tell ya is I'm broke and single too.  <_< Not the greatest of combinations, but I look forward to better days.

At least my mood is still kinda upbeat despite the situation, but that can always change pretty quickly with me.

We'll see how tomorrow goes...

Hang in there, man.  Nothing lasts forever - even being broke!   Keep a good mood if you can and it'll seem to pass even sooner.  Thanks for replying!

Love can be a great thing when it's not commercialised.  Days like Valentines, Father's/Mother's day, Thanksgiving etc are all ideas of things we all should really be doing daily. But of course, most people don't. People and things should be appreciated and loved all the time.   I'd rather have the one I love tell/show me that everyday because he wants to, not put emphasis on one day of the year because he feels he has too.

So really, IMO money shouldn't matter on Vday anyway. Love isn't about money, or at least it shouldn't be.

Well, put Sarah.  Love and money should always be separate in my opinion.  Sure if you want to use money to do something loving for a partner - thats stellar, but spending money does not equate love - unlike what the marketing firms want everyone to believe.  Thanks for your thoughts :)
