Breaking up is hard to do...

Posted by Hoagy  , 12 May 2006 - 05:32 PM

A message, posted by my bass-player BJ:

Soooo yesterday I was posed with the responsibility of asking a band member to leave the band (aka kicking him out of the band). This is by far one of the hardest things I have had to do in a long while being that this is one of my friends (but I am sure he will look at it otherwise right now). All I want to do is yell F@#*!!!!!!!!! at the top of my lungs but the kids are sleeping and that really will not solve anything. This decision was made by the band as a whole (well lacking the one I have to give the bad news to). I did what I could to be polite and not let it turn into a pissing match, again because he is my friend. I have spoken with a few people today that have been kicked out of bands or have had to kick someone out, and they all said the same thing....."I hated "so and so" for 6-12 months after they kicked me out I thought it was a big conspiracy and then I realized it was just a move on behalf of the band as to what they thought was best at the time (for some it was a good move for others it was not). In every instance though it came down to this, the person getting "kicked out" of the band was pissed but then they all became good friends again, just not in a band together, and all I can do is pray that this has the same outcome because I value my friendships and there are very few people that I would even bother trying to be civil to in a situation like this normally if it is just someone I know I couldn't be bothered less and would have just told them "%^&$ Off Dude - you're out of here", well ohh well here is my I do believe first real blog not just promoting one of my shows, I feel sh***y and wish it had not come down to this, but it did and I CAN NOT and WILL NOT go back on my decision.

Times like this I hate being in a band.

Todays funny...

just had this emailed to me from back home, so I thought I would share it with ya'll:

This is the transcript of an ACTUAL radio conversation between a US Naval ship and the Canadians, off the coast of Newfoundland, Oct 95.
Radio conversation released by the Chief of Naval Operations 10-10-95.

CANADIANS: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South, to avoid a collision.

AMERICANS: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North, to avoid a collision.

CANADIANS: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

AMERICANS: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

CANADIANS: Negative. I say again, You will have to divert your course.

AMERICANS: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER US LINCOLN. THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES ATLANTIC FLEET, WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS, AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, I SAY AGAIN, THAT'S 15 DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTERMEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

Uh oh, bad trailer alert lol!

Posted by Hoagy  , 25 April 2006 - 05:52 PM

OK, so a buddy of mine back in the motherland emailed me earlier, and told me that a goofy project me and him filmed a few years back has been edited and made into a trailer for a short story we threw together called The Legend Of The Warwickshire Werewolf

Now this was literally filmed ad-lib, on the spot over the course of one afternoon. We were bored and decided to make a movie in the vein of Blair Witch.

Not Lucasfilm by any means, but please check it out and have a good laugh at this. It actually is'nt too bad for a homemade trailer. Bad camera angles, bad acting, no budget, and no special effects, what more do you really want?

Anyways, enjoy! laugh.gif

Excited! New zombie stuff!

Posted by Hoagy  , 06 April 2006 - 06:52 PM

ok, so I found out about a new remake of Night of the Living Dead thats been made - in 3D!!!!!!

The website is pretty cool, and the trailers look neat, so lets hope it is as good as it promises (unlike the movie 'Undead' which was about as exciting as watching paint dry).

Also if you go to this webpage you can check out the sweet new 'Flyboy' figure from the 1978 classic 'Dawn of the Dead' with a promise of more Romero zombies to come, I see BUB in the pipeline! *happy dance* happy.gif

Thought Burnsy would get a kick outta this stuff yes.gif

Thats it, you can go now.

oh, and here's the LINKIE if you wanna check out the movie site.

Michale Graves 'Almost Home' tour...

Posted by Hoagy  , 27 March 2006 - 07:50 PM

His current tour to promote the book 'Almost Home' (a book written by one of the West Memphis Three) has also inspired Mike and the monster boys to do a video.

Check it out HERE and see what you think. I would be interested to hear your views on the video, and whether or not you think its appropriate.

Software Problems

Software Problems

18 months ago, I upgraded to Girlfriend 1.0 from Drinking Mates 4.2,
which I had used for years without any trouble. However, there are
apparently conflicts between these two products and the only solution
was to try and run Girlfriend 1.0 with the sound turned off.

To make matters worse, Girlfriend 1.0 is incompatible with several
other applications, such as LadsNightOut 3.1, Football 4.5, and Playboy 6.9.

Successive versions of Girlfriend proved no better. A shareware
program, PartyGirl 2.1, which I tried, had many bugs and left a virus
in my system, forcing me to shut down completely for several weeks.

Eventually, I tried to run Girlfriend 1.2 and Girlfriend 1.0 at the
same time, only to discover that when these two systems detected each
other, they caused severe damage to my hardware.

I then upgraded to Fiancée 1.0 only to discover that this product soon
had to be upgraded further to Wife 1.0. While Wife 1.0 tends to use up
all my available resources, it does come bundled with FreeS*xPlus and
CleanHouse 2004.

Shortly after this upgrade, however, I found that Wife 1.0 could be
very unstable and costly to run. Any mistakes I made were automatically
stored within Wife 1.0's memory and could not be deleted.

They then resurfaced months later when I had forgotten about them.

Wife 1.0 also has an automatic diary, explorer and email filter, and
can, without warning, launch TurboStrop and Whine. These latter
products have no Help files, and I have to try to guess what the
problem is.

Additional problems are that Wife 1.0 needs updating regularly,
requiring ShoeShop Browser for new attachments and HairstyleExpress
which needs to be reinstalled every other week. Wife 1.0 also spawns
unwelcome child processes that drain my resources.

These unfortunately conflict with some of the new games I wanted to try
out, warning me that they are an illegal operation. Also, when Wife 1.0
attaches itself to my hard drive, it often crashes.

Wife 1.0 also comes with a rather annoying pop-up called MotherInLaw,
which can't be turned off.

Recently I've been tempted to install Mistress 2004, but there could be
problems. A friend of mine has alerted me to the fact that if Wife 1.0
detects Mistress 2004 it tends to delete all of your Money files before
uninstalling itself.

Any ideas? laugh.gif

Med tunge subbende skritt den steg

Dauden i sort gjorde sjelen frossen
Gjorde huden veik under en Norroen himmel

Langsom vandring foerer meg
