Feeling dry and rootless
Waiting is difficult; it can create a void that leads to restlessness and further dissipation. As difficult as it sounds, it is better to embrace this experience, for in running away it only deepens the inner sense of being rootless, dry and empty. Waiting on the Lord can be a desert experience, but within the desert there is much life. The rain will come, and the feeling of coming home will arise with the return of the living waters, which were always there, just hidden. It is the waiting, the embracing, that allows this to happen.
