Inside Scotland's ancient Bone Caves
Still Waters posted a topic in Palaeontology, Archaeology and History
High on a limestone cliff in the north west Highlands are caves that have fascinated visitors to the area for at least 135 years. The first scientific excavations of the Bone Caves at Creag nan Uamh, by geologists Ben Peach and John Horne in 1889, uncovered remains of Arctic animals and also evidence the caves were used by hunters about 8,000 years ago. In the years since Peach and Horne, discoveries have included large chambers, 2 miles (3km) long of underground passages - and a possible polar bear bone. Speleologists - experts in cave exploration - believe further finds could be made in the area near Inchnadamph in Assynt. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cqvng3z9pqqo -

Guyv. While it's true that a nurturing environment does greatly benefit a child's development, it's also important to recognize that people can and do overcome difficult circumstances and thrive. Resilience, empathy, and kindness are often qualities that can be cultivated as a result of challenging childhood experiences. It's never too late to seek love and connection in one’s life, regardless of age. -
Hi Michelle I might see a doctor once every few years unless it's something I can't use electrical tape and advil for. I don't use bandaids as they don't hold but have used electrical tape fir close to 30 years and never got an infection. I'm fortunate to have good health so don't use the system much.

50,000 Russian soldiers confirmed dead in Ukraine
Still Waters posted a topic in Russia and the War in Ukraine
Russia's military death toll in Ukraine has now passed the 50,000 mark, the BBC can confirm. In the second 12 months on the front line - as Moscow pushed its so-called meat grinder strategy - we found the body count was nearly 25% higher than in the first year. BBC Russian, independent media group Mediazona and volunteers have been counting deaths since February 2022. New graves in cemeteries helped provide the names of many soldiers. Our teams also combed through open-source information from official reports, newspapers and social media. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-68819853 -

Don't you have to wait a very long time to see a doctor or get treatment? I went to the doctor the day after I called about something I thought might be skin cancer. He did a biopsy, called that afternoon and said it was positive. The next day I went in and he cut it out. Three days, in out and done...ten stitches.

Enormous ancient sea reptile identified from amateur fossil find
Still Waters posted a topic in Palaeontology, Archaeology and History
Scientists have identified what was probably the largest marine reptile ever to swim in the seas - a creature longer than two, nose-to-nose buses. The creature lived around 202 million years ago alongside the dinosaurs. Its fossilised jawbone was found in 2016 by a fossil hunter on a beach in Somerset, UK. In 2020 a father and daughter found another similar jawbone. Experts now say the fossils are from two giant ichthyosaur reptiles, which could have been 25m long. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68831349 -

I 'reacted' to the shorter version, before you added angles, etc. I've already stated my position regarding angles of inclination. Aquarius is Kataklysmos (water bearer/pourer), and Leo is Ekpyrosis (sign of the lion - fiery mane), although the same effects occur globally, what occurs in a particular location can be dependent upon direction of crustal displacement (GP oscillates between equatorial and 30 degrees - every 12ka). I'd be wary of reading much into "Observe the height of the stars" as indicating more than a need to keep an eye on the zodiacal age one is in, e.g. as in "this is the dawning of the age of Aquarius".. -
Canada's best-documented UFO case still intrigues 57 years on
Trelane replied to UM-Bot's topic in Extraterrestrial Life and The UFO Phenomenon
"Canada's best-documented UFO case still intrigues 57 years on" Intrigues who? FFS, no one actually believes this do they? "Claims: Physical Evidence of Steve Michalak's Falcon Lake UFO Incident" https://www.metabunk.org/threads/claims-physical-evidence-of-steve-michalaks-falcon-lake-ufo-incident.12439/ "Skeptics of the Falcon Lake UFO Incident state that Michalak's burns were as a result of an accident stemming from alcohol use, and that his claim was in order to hide their cause. In reporting the incident, Michalak would potentially dissuade any competitors from prospecting in his site. The subsequent frenzy by the public and media caused the reverse effect however, with numerous individuals descending upon the site.[3] The pieces of melted radioactive metal were purported by skeptics of the case to have been planted following the incident to solidify the hoax.[3][26] "John B. Alexander writing in the Journal for Scientific Exploration states that some of Michalak's long-lasting effects, including the skin lesions which he claimed to be due to his exposure to the exhaust blast, were as a result of an allergic reaction. Alexander highlighted the inconsistencies within Michalak's testimony with regards to the event.[16] "Aaron Sakulich writing for the Iron Skeptic agrees with the alcohol-use explanation.[27] Michalak's inconsistencies in his testimony when discussing his interactions with highway patrol officer G.S. Solotki as well as the nature of the drinks Michalak had prior to the incident were of note. Michalak's claim that he was sober was disputed by the staff at the Falcon Hotel, who stated Michalak had drunk several Presbyterians (a type of cocktail drink consisting of rye whiskey, ginger ale, and water).[27] Michalak's claim of his interactions with G.A. Solotki are directly disputed by Solotki's own report for the RCMP the night of the incident, which stated Michalak was reluctant to answer Solotki's questions despite his visible burns and possibly inebriated state.[27] In claiming that he was victim to a UFO related attack, Michalak could deflect attention away from prospecting competition on a site in which Michalak had already staked a claim." -

Thanks Michelle Hmmm, no kiddin huh!? I guess I dunno all the ins and outs. . All I know is it works great for me in my situation, mainly because of the annual Out of Pocket Limit. Once I pay $4100.00 …I’m done for the year. My care costs roughly a half million a year? …and costs me about $120.00 a month …for my advantage plan…. (plus the annual Out of Pocket) I remember looking at plans before ACC became available..and most were hundreds more a month. ?
