sickpuppy Posted June 1, 2012 #103 Share Posted June 1, 2012 i hope the whole 2012 december date is a big flop.. whatever don't kill us makes us stronger all the ones who believed it was doomsday are forced to rethink things.. that's a good thing, if you know someone who's currently bothered by the whole scene, it becomes your job opens up an oppurtunity for you to help them work through 2013 there's no point griefing them the next morning.. anyone with half a brain will be doing that to themselves, it's the ones who still cling to the destruction story, that kind of thinking would only hinder them in 2013.. i see two possibilities emerging from this... either we the people are going to get our **** together and confront the establishment... or the establishment (which has been busy getting its **** together) is going to confront us... Thankfully, there's no 13-13-13 that someone could use to concoct some neumerologic nonsense about next year! And, no one will be able to throw anything out there for another 89 years...until the next 1-1-1 occurs (in 2101). Can you imagine 13-13-13 ?!?! THREE UNLUCKY NUMBERS ALL CONCURRING ON ONE ACTUAL DATE?! Oh, the humanity!!!

fran123 Posted June 2, 2012 #109 Share Posted June 2, 2012 I've just returned from doing a shopping and one of my purchases was a jar of marmalade and guess what, it has a use-by date of May 2014! That's proof enough for me that the end won't be this year.

fran123 Posted June 2, 2012 #113 Share Posted June 2, 2012 Mid. Lilly, Leonardo: just had a worrying thought. What if all use by dates on products are May 2014? Does that mean THAT is the real date, not December 2012? I going to check all purchases from now on and if they all have a use by date of May 2014 then I'm going to be very concerned. I rthink that means that all products have a shelf life of 17 months from today...including the cognitive marmalade! That's kind of wierd, I think. I think May 2014 is as real a date as is December 2012. I don't think anything will ever change that opinion, nor do I think that anything will occur on either date that's all too important--although maybe by 2014, cognitive marmalade could be understood! Don't be worried, or concerned...unless of course, the marmalade speaks to you!
+and-then Posted June 3, 2012 #115 Share Posted June 3, 2012 All I've got to say is that 2011 was so bad I lost my fear of anything a new year can bring. Death comes to believers and non believers alike. It's the end of the world EVERY DAY for a few tens of thousands. btw the Bible says nothing about the world ending. Just the messed up way humanity governs it.
Bildr Posted June 4, 2012 #116 Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Well their's even controvercy between mayan ''specialists''. Some believe that the mayan predicted violent catalysm on earth and others that they predicted a time of change, the end of an era and the begining of a new age of understanding and a better future for humans. As for myself is not afraid of a ''end of the world''. What sacres me the most is that our race would continue in this ego path of individuality, war and violence. MID Posted June 6, 2012 #119 Share Posted June 6, 2012 April 23rd of 2014 there is a freaky astrological aspect. And this means what..other than anything "astrological" is generally pretty freaky in itself, and that Astrology is unrelated to anything, let alone the subject of this thread? I do wonder if 14% of the population elieves in astrology as well as the end of the world in 2012. Hmmm...
_Only Posted June 11, 2012 #120 Share Posted June 11, 2012 ...Astrology is unrelated to ... the subject of this thread... Wait, what? MID Posted June 11, 2012 #122 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Wait, what? The thread is about translations of recording of ancient astrology, and people's reactions to those translations. Really? Ancient Astrology? I though it was just abourt apocryphal beliefs in nonsense, and blatant misinterpretations of ramblings. I never saw any body come out and say it was astrological in nature (despite the fact that the whole idea of armageddon in 2012 has about as much basis in fact as astrology does). there's nothing in any Mayan calendar that hints at the end of the world in 2012. _Only Posted June 12, 2012 #123 Share Posted June 12, 2012 Really? Ancient Astrology? I though it was just abourt apocryphal beliefs in nonsense, and blatant misinterpretations of ramblings. The ancient civilization looked to the skies as their gods, and wrote down and drew what they saw. This isn't a new concept in terms of ancient civilizations. Whether you think it is nonsense and rambling, it still happened. I didn't think it was that hard to make the connection between the cyclical calenders they made by watching the cosmos, and a cyclical recording of time (or ages), as they experienced them here on Earth. The problem came much later when some enthusiastic people started trying to tell us what the Mayans saw in those changing of ages marked by the cosmos, and at some point it became a possible end of the world cash cow for television and Hollywood. I never saw any body come out and say it was astrological in nature (despite the fact that the whole idea of armageddon in 2012 has about as much basis in fact as astrology does). Well, this is the information age, so you can take your head out of that sand by typing two words into your favorite internet search box. Whether you agree or not, there you go. there's nothing in any Mayan calendar that hints at the end of the world in 2012. There's nothing in what I've said that hinted at me disagreeing. Lilly Posted June 12, 2012 #124 Share Posted June 12, 2012 ...there's nothing in any Mayan calendar that hints at the end of the world in 2012. Correct, but the precognitive marmalade is apparently hinting away. Why some folks get so fixated on 'end of the world' scenarios is beyond my ability to understand.
