Canadian Murder Weapon of Choice

"The rate of firearm homicides per 100,000 population has generally been declining since the mid-1970s and, in 2011, reached its lowest point in almost 50 years."

The Canadian murder weapon of choice is now the blade.

"An increase in stabbings accounted for virtually the entire increase in homicides in 2011," the federal data agency said.

It said there were 39 more stabbings in 2011 compared to 2010. Overall, stabbings accounted for 35 per cent of homicides, firearms for 27 per cent, beatings for 22 per cent and strangulation for seven per cent.

I had a BF who was an expert knife fighter .It was an extension of the martial art escrima/Kali. They just used knives in the place of sticks etc.He was an awesome knife thrower tho.

He could throw a knife the way and expert dart thrower hits the bullseye .

Guys with guns, like three at a time, have ended up disarmed and on the floor ,numerous times .

Yeah,really.

I never witnessed it except in class ,but he used to tell me he would walk along Central Park South ,at 2am ,on purpose .

So gangs would try to mug him ,and he could "practice".

Knowing him as I do ,I believe it .

So he never needed a gun ,but he always had one of those too. In the apt .

He never murdered anyone tho.

He's not Canadian . Should he move ^_^

The Canadian knife culture is growing out of control. I propose strict anti-knife laws be placed ASAP in order to prevent further senseless violence that could have all been prevented if it weren't for all these pro-knife nuts supporting a culture of death!

Correct... ALL knives should be banned ASAP.

Great. Gun nuts in Texas, knife nuts in Canada. Whats next?

Edit: Not saying all Texans and Canadians are 'nuts.'

So Hasina, and other Texans on UM along with Canadians, forgive me.

I carry a knife everywhere I go and I'm not even a Canadian. :tu: It's use as a weapon is secondary but it will do if the need arises.

It's easier to get blood on your new shirt than if you had just shot them.

It was like this post was calling me. 'Hasina~ open this thread~ someone mentioned you~' So I did!

Meh, I'll agree, we do have gun nuts in Texas, but you can find a gun but anywhere. Though it doesn't help that the Houston radio advertises a giant warehouse of guns in the mornings.

I carry an Olfal blade all the time too.... I need it for work but it's a handy weapon.... I call it my air plane ticket.

lol, I love that!

But, this just shows that the whole gun argument has holes in it. I think that the weapon that is most easily accessible will be the weapon of choice.
