RockabyeBillie Posted April 9, 2013 Author #26 Share Posted April 9, 2013 Why is that an educating facility's concern? My workplace has a cafeteria. Why is it their concern whether or not WE have a convenient place to go eat?
Star of the Sea Posted April 9, 2013 #27 Share Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) In the UK the schools are 'in loco parentis', Latin for "in the place of a parent" they have a legal responsibility to take care of the children. CrimsonKing Posted April 9, 2013 #28 Share Posted April 9, 2013 That's pretty cool. I wonder how they police it. I could never work in a food pantry. My wife volunteered at one for awhile at a local church. She was just too bothered by the freeloaders. There are people who go from place to place all the time and just take the good stuff. People will drive up in nice cars, have cell phones and be dressed fairly nice. That food pantry has since gone to a program that requires those in need to register with a department in town. They must do a background check of some kind. Yeah i volunteered some of my time a few years back and saw the same **** you just mentioned, freeloaders loading up their nice shiny cars with everything they could get, almost got into a fistfight with one after telling him off haha. As for the school lunches i used to just not eat when i was at school, what they call healthy, balanced nutrition i called junk food.I knew a few though that school lunch was about the best meals they got throughout the week,so it does serve a purpose.

RockabyeBillie Posted April 9, 2013 Author #30 Share Posted April 9, 2013 profit And the school doesn't profit from the money parents have to fork over for food?
tapirmusic Posted April 9, 2013 #31 Share Posted April 9, 2013 Your argument is falling apart. According to you, schools should make money by serving food. Yet, they should be providing free food to those without sufficient money. You've lost me, and at this point I don't even care to try to understand. It said they were supposed to give the kids a cheese sandwich and they didn't do it. That's all there is to it.
lightly Posted April 10, 2013 #33 Share Posted April 10, 2013 (edited) That's not only stupid , it's cruel. um,, how about having kids pay BEFORE they get the food? (wow) Edited April 10, 2013 by lightly
Sir Wearer of Hats Posted April 10, 2013 #34 Share Posted April 10, 2013 Or, lets teach the kids a valuable life lesson - it's called "debt". You can't afford lunch? Buy it on credit. Don't pay your debt? Don't get your results.
