Documentary on the media monopoly

I came across this recent documentary on the monopolization of American media and its detrimental effects on democracy and society; Shadows Of Liberty

I'm not exactly sure about the copyright status of this doc, but I assume if it is in violation Youtube would have removed it.

Media is a great topic being that it's role is so very influential, for certain .Thankfully , I percieve the media now for what it truly is . I see the media as a way to manipultae , disinform , distract ,and actually lie . They manipulate and lie no differently than politicans do in their fake politics .

I was going to look into the TWA 800 flight explosion some more, but I got sidetracked in another forum. Friendly fire is plausible to me, unlike the 911 inside job theories.

Yeah that seemed to make sense. The nike one seemed really legit too because of the cbs reporters having nike logos on. That was really disturbing to me.

In all honesty this video has had a huge effect on me. It challanged some of my veiws. I am a strong free market guy. But this video makes a great point about how maybe media should be regulated a bit.

I hate the goverment controling stuff. But the united states use to have laws makeing it were media can not be monopolized by one group. The video shows how we have been letting media monopolize more and more. We use to have it were a cities entire media can not be ran by one company. But now that is going away.

So i have to admit that maybe there should be laws not allowing the media to be ran by a few big groups.

If you investigate TWA 800, be sure to read what USAF General Benton Partin has to say about it. You won't read about him in the newspaper or hear his name on TV, but he has some very interesting things to say about that incident, and even more interesting things about the Murrah Building.

If that doesnt wake you up to how our whole media is bought and paid for then you will forever be a zombie.

That was appalling, the part about the Nike factory. I need to finish watching the video. In another thread (I think it was "Sandy Hook Exposed") someone made a comment about other countries do fine without guns. Of course they do, all they have to do is tape their employees' mouths shut, like the Nike factory did to its girls. Sorry, I know I'm opening a can of worms here.

People will do absolutely anything for greed. Another good documentary is Casino Jack and the United States of Money. It's a doc on guess who, Jack Abramoff, who else. In one scandal, appalling worker abuse is evidenced in an American Samoa sweatshop.

I found a copy of this video on Youtube, and again, I assume it is not in copyright violation otherwise it would have been removed by now.

Yeah, you're welcome.

Wow, thanks so much for posting this! Very eye opening, I have to say. Considering what is going on now, with the government scandals including the whole thing with James Rosen at FOX News, it is very relevant right now. Also, the whole thing that happened with Amber Lyon, too. That was cool to see Danny Glover on there, and Dan Rather..... :)

I just watched this one thing on Youtube, called Conspiracy? and it was talking about this.

There's more videos too, just type in TWA 800......

Some of it comes down to their desire to be the first with the most. They want to beat their competitors to the punch when they cover big and breaking news stories, like the Boston bombing. Never mind the fact that their sources' "facts" are often fiction. They also copy each other when it comes to what events will be covered, as well as how long they will be covered.

Do you think it's smart and wise for any Commander In Chief to "spy" on media? Why would there be a reason and need for on to do that ? And yeah , they do play games with headlines in distracting what more serious issues of matters are , leaving out the entire fact of why things may be occuring ,and simply seeming to be bias and manipulative for whatever side the media is to play for.

I seen Geraldo act in a cruel and demeaning manner towards the 011 really , like giving them the middle finger and spewing out remarks that were anything but professional. I've heard Bill O'Reilly and other fox news corrospondents to the same. Even to the extent of coming across as threatening them that they would soon get pounded by police and tasered , for what ? Speaking out that they want a new investigation.

Whether or not anyone believes or not ,that, what was told to the world concering that day , by means of the "media" and "television" , media and whomever does not have the right to threaten any people with violence and fear, who feel the investiagtion was not legit and are pursuiting for a new investigation.

If the first investigation were complete , there would be no questions, does the media even care at all enough to feel and understand that there are still unanswered questions that are and have been obviously avoided , and so they shift to name calling ,and threats, really? instead of questioning why are there scientist who are saying that they have proof that the original conspiracy that was told by media and politicans is just not true, not permitted to display , and provide their proof?

No, Media instead just propagandizes, it's untrusting, no matter what the truth truth is , the media is so biased, fand ull of lies and distractions. And people wonder why the 911 truthers want a new investigation.Who in politics and media can anyone really trust? There always a reason when something that big happens, especially when the commander in chief at the time was warned something like 52 or 53 times of it going to be taking place , let's not forget how some of them were followed by spy's of the u.s. years prior and the buleprints were found, read and documneted of what was planed .

It sounds more like sins of omission in some instances. You can say that there are times when that's true for both government and media, as the coverage of short-selling proves. That coverage disappeared in the blink of an eye. It was a simultaneous disappearance, and it was never heard about again. Even alternative sources gave it short shrift while they covered more "sexy" stories and theories. I suppose that "follow the money" is a mundane phrase in the era of David Icke. Reptilians are more exciting than individuals who profited from foreknowledge of a tragedy. Keep in mind that the main news outlets are just parts of major corporations, with all that goes with it.

I just watched in the OP's video where Gary Webb committed suicide because he was black balled for writing "Dark Alliance" (an expose of the CIA's allowing drug trafficking by the contras). How sad. :( I know at least one thread has branched off from this one (TWA 800). Maybe more will.

That part made me almost cry in the movie....

I will be making a thread on this one.
