deepfreezemcgee Posted September 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I'm really hoping this is open to the public. Is anyone in the general vicinity? This is only about 35 minutes away from my day job, and I'm really hoping that I can make it. http://www.prcc.edu/?q=brownstone/events/dr-michio-kaku Anyone here had the chance to see him speak on this topic (or any other for that matter)? Drayno Posted September 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2013 Love this guy. The only person I'll gladly let give me a headache. You should read A Brief History of Time. I read it when I was a librarian. It's amazing. And it will provide enjoyable headaches.
deepfreezemcgee Posted September 20, 2013 Author #5 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I own his book 'Hyperspace'.. I'd really love to see one of his lectures. I read this one when I was 13 or 14 years old and loved it. He definitely has a knack for explaining incredibly complex concepts to simpletons like myself. I concur with Hatake Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" was fantastic as well.

Drayno Posted September 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2013 The bit about the elderly lady and the Turtles was hilarious I own the illustrated copy; when I first read it I read the 1988 press. The illustrations make it all the more interesting. I actually own that and The Universe In A Nutshell in a split-book.
