Professor T Posted March 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) interesting. but kind of sad really.. We can fool ourselves and create phantoms and illusion.. Edit to add: Then allow our creation to take on a life of their own... There's more than meets eye in stories like this.. What is creation but a phantom or illusion left to it's own devices... woah......... deep.... Edited March 24, 2014 by Professor T
Rlyeh Posted March 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 24, 2014 No, the mind is very good at fooling itself. Tell me when it can grow back limbs or achieve flight.

Some people just aren't satisfied with possessing the most complex and powerful object in the known universe, no superpowers required.
bLu3 de 3n3rgy Posted March 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Phantom pregnancy is a hormone disorder i thought. Maybe i am thinking of animals, it's quite common with dogs and sometimes horses for example. The other thing it could be is ET's messing around. But still whatever it may be it is a strong example of how powerful an effect it can have to trick people into believing they are really pregnant. Your mostly right with the hormones, however, unless the organ producing the hormone is damaged in some way, such functions are dictated by the brain. for things like phantom pregnancies, a specific combination of several hormones in the right amounts and at specific times needs to take place. XenoFish Posted March 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 24, 2014 The mind is extremely powerful. People can think themselves sick, imagine "monsters" so strongly that they see them, and even create phantoms themselves (like a tulpa). It does make me wonder how powerful a thought can become. As for the story it is amazing, strange, and rather sad.
Bendy Demon Posted March 24, 2014 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2014 So..let me see if I understand this. This woman never even once went to a doctor throughout her pregnancy and only went when she thought she was going to deliver and this is when she discovered she really wasn't pregnant? Not even her boyfriend had her go once in awhile to be checked out? Something is just not right here.
regeneratia Posted March 24, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) no way. I do NOT doubt the power of my mind. I have been imaging that the power-mongers in this world fail in their attempts to enslave us. And they are indeed failing. Thus you see all the desparate acts that they are doing now. You see bankers dying. You see airplanes stolen, tho they want us to believe the plane when down in the ocean. You see Congressmen making new regulations on how people sell their extra energy produced back to the utilities, for obviously those utility companies are thinking that it is a huge expense. We are succeeding in bringing down the enslavers. It isn't a far reach to think that someone could mentally create a physiological pregnancy. As for the story it is amazing, strange, and rather sad. The placebo effect accounts for sometimes up to 20 percent efficacy for drugs. Sometimes that is more than the effectiveness of chemotherapy. So I do honestly believe this preganacy could have been fully imagined into being. BUT.... It is indeed very suspicious that she never went to a Dr. to confirm or to help nurture the pregnancy. From someone who has had a stillbirth, IMHO, you should never ever neglect a pregnancy by going without medical care. How did she know she was going to have multiple births if she didn't go to the Dr.? How in gods' names would she know about the multiple births if the pregnancy wasn't even confirmed? SSilhouette Posted March 26, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2014 I once suffered from an ailment for years. It was cosmetic mainly but it was uncomfortable and causing me some pain too. I was in the shower one day and feeling the pain from it and I just simply asked the spirit, or willed it from myself to end this suffering. And it was gone. I have not suffered from it since that day. The only other time this happened was when I went to a powerful healer for another issue and instead he located a problem in my back and "fixed" it. It had caused me pain until that day for years and then just like that it was gone. No more pain. The will is an unusual organ that needs more exercising. But I did pray too, so there is an outside element that needs acknowledgment.
bLu3 de 3n3rgy Posted March 26, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 26, 2014 Some pain is caused by congestion and blocks in the energy body /field that is feeding back to the physical body or nervous system. So it makes sense you were able to help that by using the power of your mind. Like right now i am applying the process to a spot that hurts on and off on my shoulder blade / back. It's a congestion spot that i can clear by using my chi force
theotherguy Posted March 26, 2014 #16 Share Posted March 26, 2014 The mind regulates itself. It can be influenced by outside stimuli, but how much of the mind is conscious, and why the unconscious sometimes acts against the conscious, is still unknown.

I think negative affects are routinely placed on us by other people. With diligence you can "feel" them out and do work to weed them out. Positive affects are placed the same way through prayer.
