My, my another "voice for sensible gun laws" caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Except this time, it wasn't simply being caught with an illegal firearm as has recently happened with other high profile gun control types, it was conspiring to import a large number of illegal firearms through the Port of Newark to illegal Chinese gangs operating in California and elsewhere. All because he needed a little more cash-o-la to fund his political aspirations.

This guy was more than happy to restrict the gun rights of law abiding citizens, all the while actively fueling the problem of illegal guns and violence on our city streets. Sickening.

And in case folks are wondering what types of illegal weapons Yee is accused of wanting to traffic, the San Jose Mercury News states:

The agent told Yee and Jackson he wanted any type of shoulder-fired weapons or missiles, the affidavit says; Yee asked whether he wanted automatic weapons, and the agent confirmed he did -- about $500,000 to $2.5 million worth.

So while trying to make my Ruger 10/22 target rifle illegal, this guy was scheming to deliver military-grade weaponry to one of the most dangerous and notorious Chinese gangs in the US. Again, sickening.

California state Sen. Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) -- one of the state's strongest advocates for gun control -- was arrested Wednesday on charges that include scheming to defraud citizens of honest services and conspiracy to illegally traffic firearms.

Yee, 65, was seized at his home during a string of raids that capped an FBI public corruption probe. The San Francisco investigation focused on Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow, who federal authorities said is the leader of Chee Kung Tong, or CKT, a social organization involved in what an FBI affidavit calls "criminal enterprise." FBI agents discovered during the investigation that Yee and his political consultant, Keith Jackson, 49, were involved with Chow and his associates at CKT, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Yee came in contact with the CKT while raising funds for his 2011 San Francisco mayoral campaign, according to the FBI affidavit. Yee and Jackson asked FBI agents posing as CKT members for donations in excess of the $500 individual donation limit, the affidavit said.

Yee was reportedly at least $70,000 in debt following his defeat in the mayor's race, and needed to settle his accounts to run for California secretary of state in 2014. To do so, Yee agreed to perform "certain official acts" for an undercover FBI agent in exchange for donations, according to the affidavit.

During one exchange, Jackson and Yee arranged a meeting between the FBI agent and an illegal arms dealer to organize the sale of a large number of weapons to be imported through the Port of Newark in New Jersey, the affidavit said. Yee discussed details about the weapons during the meeting, according to the document.

We have no journalism and no semblance of objectivity in the main stream media. A survey some years ago found that (surprise!) some 85% of those in the MSM vote Democrat. They were supposed to be the "forth branch of government," watchdogs to keep power in check, not lapdogs. If their idiotic dream of a socialist/communist state ever really comes to pass, most will be out of a job, if not jailed.

Any story about a Republican (lets take the Christie story about the bridge closing between NY and NJ) will get continuous airplay. Any story about Democrats: crickets chirping.

if we didn't have these gun laws he pushes for he wouldn't be able to make a dishonest buck!

Kind of makes me question our stringent drug laws and those that push them.

i'm sure the guy who got busted didn't include his desire to supply gangs with heavy weapons in his election program. and promised do everything he could to keep citizens of CA safe from gun crime. lol

my whole point is that it is very dumb to blame people who voted for anyone for his\her actions latter, but it seem to be very popular consept here.
