Auditory Hallucinations Before Sleep

Okay guys so last night before I fell asleep I thought I kept on Hearing this annoying little whispering in my Ear as I was trying to fall asleep. But the thing is it sounded like it was distant music playing. Now my sister did just get home and it was late at night so I thought it was her playing music on her computer or something so i got up opened my door and went to her room to see if she was awake and to my surprise she was in bed lights off and door shut. My Dad was also in Bed and so was mom. No one had any electronics running as it was 12:30am at night and i went to bed late. Now as you guys know who saw my other thread I have been recording with an app called "Dream Talk Recorder" from the apple app store that records sounds and movements during the night. I have been catching a ton of EVPs for the past 2 months. Last Night I believe i may have heard them when fully awake still aware of everything going around me. The interesting part is i actually did respond to what the AVP was asking of me.

Now with this EVP I was still awake and is the one which i believe sounded like "Distant Music", in the clip you will hear me yawning but then I hear what I believe

Well what do you guys think are Auditory Hallucinations related to the Electronic Voice Phenomena?

How so? It was super soft whispering that sounded like it was coming from a distance but on playback of my device it was clearly a EVP. That my mind managed to pick up on before heading off to dreamland.

Well, when it comes to someone's room and their door shuts and their lights off, they could still be playing their stereo while they go to sleep. I use to do it, and I think my son does it. Also, what kind of heating do you have? I ask, because I have base heating, and I swear, I can hear what is going on in my son's room in the basement, ( like him playing quitar ) and that's two floors down from my room. For some reason, the pipes in the base heating has sounds traveling to the point that it sounds close what is going on two floors down.

Also, if you in a home where maybe upstairs bedrooms have a slanted ceiling, like in a cape, ( like I have ) sound has a way of bouncing off the slanted ceiling and sounds like it's happening right there, instead of somewhere further away.

I actually suspected my Heater in my room to be the cause for some of the EVPs. However to test the theory i placed my Recorder very close to my air vent and upon Play back it didn't pick up a thing other then the Heater actually turning on of course. And even if the Heater was the cause I don't think it would be dropping continuous F Bombs at me as well as saying my names multiple types. Like here the EVP i captured the other night sounded like mother ******* Mort Goldman from Family Guy calling out my name and then ends in a very creepy laugh which i have never heard on my recorder.

Note THE EVP IS SLOWED DOWN. When I 1st listened to that voice i couldn't figure out where I have heard that voice from and then i was like Holy **** its Mother ******* Mort Goldman calling my 1st and last name. I guess Spirits like watching Family Guy to who knew.

But then there is this EVP with multiple voices coming in at once

And then what I find to be pretty compelling EVP Is it saying Bless You after i sneeze in my sleep.

Auditory hallucinations are actually false perceptions of sounds and words. They have been described as the experience of internal words, sounds or noises that have no real origin in the outside world.

Steve, you did not experience an auditory hallucination, because you also apparently captured it on E.V.P, as you claim.

Maybe my experiences will help you.

When i joined this site, many people claimed to captured EVPs on the recorders. I decided to experiment with my own recorder and found some interesting things.

1. You can pick up distant sounds.

Unlike human ears, machine can collect distant sounds and came come back distorted. I once put my voice recorder in a trunk, bury it in pillows and closed the closet door. I then sang various nursery songs in each room. When I placed it back it picked up most of my voice but came muffled at times. The best example is people going to houses and do recordings and not realize that the voice recorder can capture peoples movements and words they spoke. Unless you have photographic memory it is very hard to remember who did what and said what when the recording was taken place.

2. Quality of the recordings matter.

There are differences between the voice recorder models out there from the quality of what format it stores the recordings and also how good the microphone is. A cheap Voice recorder and phone has a low clarity and sounds and voices can come muffled or distorted.

3. Our mind hears what we want to hear.

I have seen many people post here of claims of catching EVP but when you listen to it the sounds could be muffles or mutterings.

4. Transfering and uploading will alter the way it sounds.

I am not going into huge detail but sounds get compressed when uploading and transfering to the pc or online.

5. Sounds travel further at night.

In most locations the decibels of sound will decrease down when night falls. Cars, people and animals that are up in the day have retire back to their homes and allow noise to travel further. For example, My neighbours are always outside drinking beer on the porch up the street. During the day i can hear them vaguely but at night i can hear them more clearly as if they are next door to me.

6. House make sounds

During the day the heat of the sun can warm the house and alter it's mass slightly. When night comes and it is cooler the house will settle down but can create noises. Here is an article about house settling http://home.howstuff...ses-settle1.htm

So what about your situation? Well i suffer from hypnagogia and various other sleep elements such as talking or whispering in my sleep. I have had partial to full conversations with no memory of dreaming about it. I was told once that I had a conversation with myself, which is unnerving. The issue is you could whisper your own name and can sound not of your own.

The dream app recorder does work except it recording quality is not great compared to voice recorders. The app will pick up sounds but it is not a solid recording, it will start recording when a noise starts so it may not record a few seconds to a few moments.

My suggestion is getting a voice recorder, a good one and recorder the entire night.

Also, Stay awake and try identify the times and locations of the noises or whispers. During the day investigate them. EVPs are easily fake or mistaken

In the mid-ninties, I read a psychology today article that stated that 65% of respondents heard voices when there is no one there. That is a pretty big percentage.

I've never heard a convincing EVP. I just don't buy it with all the ambient noises around us.
