Contemplation.

This is a Free Verse Poem i wrote maybe a month ago. I just found it when i was looking for something else... lol... you know how it is

~ Contemplation ~

Am I a mere Monkey?

If I look, my reflection may say so.

Must I quit work and climb a tree?

Why not, if I am a mere Monkey?

My surroundings, and upbringing, birth these thoughts.

Thoughts of science.

Not of Metaphysics.

But, I know, as the sun will shine, I have a soul.

As Van Gogh paints, and I write,

the soul years love.

Contemplation will arise all of my days.

Distorting an image I try to perfect.

I just know one thing, as like Socrates,

and that is: "I know nothing at all".
