BiffSplitkins Posted July 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2014 BOSTON (Reuters) - An investigation into a former Massachusetts funeral-home operator has turned grisly, with authorities discovering 12 bodies at a storage unit outside Boston leased by the man, Joseph O'Donnell, authorities said.Police late Thursday recovered 12 human bodies from a storage unit in Weymouth, Massachusetts, about 13 miles (20 km) southeast of Boston, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel Conley said. That came a day after police found cremated remains in a storage unit rented by the man in Somerville, just north of Boston. O'Donnell, 55, was arrested in April and charged with two counts of larceny after he accepted $12,000 in pre-payment funds from a family planning a funeral but then closed his funeral home business and was unable to provide either services or return the money, according to prosecutors. He is being held on those charges, to which he pleaded not guilty. READ MORE What the heck is wrong with funeral homes these days?

BiffSplitkins Posted July 18, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted July 18, 2014 Seems to not be a "dead sure" bidness nomore... or the morticians are getting to be more incapable... No doubt there. Funerals are NOT cheap and I'm sure the overhead really can't be anywhere near what they charge. This mortician has some serious explaining to do, especially if any of those 12 bodies have living relatives.
