How dumb. Who would want to be left alive when everyone you love is gone?I wonder what those doomsayers will say if nothing happens on Dec. 21st. No point in shopping for Christmas I guess lol.

keep your receipts. ;)

In an ideal World a law would be passed were NO guns were allowed and all those out there destroyed, trouble is the law makers are not going to take a risk of trying to pass that without making sure they are armed first.

I am sending you a load of money, it may be useless if there are no shops left, but you can use it to light a fire.

More importantly, why would the aliens want those sort of people on board their aircraft?

Soooooo you're saying if the translation was amended and the date was changed again to some time in the future you would believe the world is going to end?

Because they're the kind of people who won't report the probing to the authorities.

I would want to be alive, it's called survival. A lot of people you love will be gone before you are.

I think they are a bunch of party poopers, I was looking forward to someone documenting the antics of these folks for hours, possibility days of shared you-tube hilarity afterward. <_<
Welcome to the world of french socialism where the concept of making money over some dumb people is considered dangerous.  In any normal world, thousands of people gathering weeks in advance for any events would be considered a gift from Lug (the Celtic equivalent of Mercury, God of good business) but in France making money is a sin.

Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither Benjamin Franklin

It's time for a sixth republic.

France bans access to doomsday 'safe zone'

They have got this the wrong way round.

A better way to deal with this would be to let all these 'believers' in, but not let them out after Dec 21st. This way we would be rid of them and they could become a living museum of 21st Century life preserved for future generations.

I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to show me where the hell Helen of Annoy has been for the past couple of months.

Thats ridiculous. what is the sheer importance of one town? how is it going to protect people from the end of days? Some "magical" barrier? I stopped believing in magic after my attempt at making a bird disappear went wrong. Poor bird...

Its called "publicity". But whats frightens me more are wannabe magicians using live creatures in their tricks. Mind you, if it were a chicken you could have had it for dinner, so not a complete waste of life, was it a chicken?
