new to the group,starting with myrtles pics

wow im really glad i came to this sight i enjoyed lurking around so i figured i would join and share a few pics i took at the myrtles to start off.

now ive been intersted in ghost and everything unexplained since i was a kid.not so much a true beliver but i cant pass up a good story and have no problem letting myself enjoy the moment of a good scare.but at the end uf the day i take every story with a grain of salt and have only been truly scared once,,,but at the myrltes we did the ghost tour enjoyed the story and walked the grounds looking for pics of anyhting scary,,we got thses.

now i took these exactly 2 days before hurrican katrina.me and my new girlfriend we on our first overnight B&B.walking around with our digital camera we started just snapping random pics of anyhting and everything,we got tons and tons of orbs,wich i wrote off as dust or maybe insect but looking at them on the oc they are orbs not bugs..but im posting something i cant even begain to explain.some other guests sataying in the grounds keeps cabin stoped me and my gf,asked us to come in the back yard and see if we felt funny and smelld anything,one clamied to have gotten sick from a sulfer smell no one else smelled.

so we went back there didnt smell anything but,im not sure how to explain it,,have you ever walked into a room where the tv has been on a long time but no one was in there and you get this static electricty feel,like a slight haze,,,well anyway thats what i felt in the back yard..no being a part time artist i loved the look of the old cabin and wanted a pic for future sketches,,

in this shot i thought i got my finger in the pic,but its not there is a haze in the top right corner and what ever is peeking up in the bottom.also what ever is showing up in the photo is absorbing my flash not letting it reach the cabin.

the second pic standing in the same spot,what ever it is passing threw the camera,,,this is when i realized it wasnt my finger in the first pic,,,and once again the flash dosent fully reach the cabin....

so seeing the last pic i snaped one more hoping to catch what ever it was again,,,this time nothing was in the pic or the next 20 i took in that back yard.

but notice the flash reached the cabin this time...i took these pics 1,2,3 in a row standing in the same spot,,only pausing maybe 3 seconds inbetween shots,,,and i asked all of the 5 people around me if they saw anything reflect when i took the pics all said no and all freaked when i showed them the pics.

this one coming up is my favorite pic from the myrtles,,haha we kept hearing a real tiny tapping noise we couldnt find where it was coming from i waws all over the rom,,,wich was the slave qauters outside of the house,,it was driving us nuts like the driping of water in a pan,tap tap tap..then it well it sounded real close to us in the room haha and this is the pic i got of my girlfriend when the noise got loud,,,she was so scared you can see it in her eyes,,,it was defidently close to our bed,,but we never seen anyhting and she made me sleep with the slights on,we had a really good time and went back a year later with her dad and sisiter,,didnt get any new pics but had a couple little things that happend ill post them here if anyone isnt tired of hearing about the myrtles. now im still not a true beliver soo if any once can explain the pics please let me know.

i would agree but my camera dosnt have straps and the lens cap was in my pocket,,,l left the pics big so you could get a good look at them,but if you shrink the pics down it. it looks like its own light source..but yea i have no camera straps and nothing was impeding the lens,,,i never moved the camera more then a couple inches,,i was just looking at the view screen held about head high,,snap,,,snap,,,snap..what ever it was moved threw the view starting at the bottom moving upwards..

It looks like a camera strap to me too, but if you say your camera didn't have a strap then it could have been a hair or some other object like that. Also those pics have distorted the page so much it's very hard to read this thread at all. You'd get more responses if you made the pictures smaller. Most people will not scroll that much to see the pics.

ive tried to edit the pics and make them smaller but they seem to stay the same size.so i dont know,,haha but i do know it cant be my hair im bald shave daily,,the one thing that gets me,if it was hair it wouldnt stop the flash from reaching the cabin...and its soo bright and not in the 3rd pic,,i took all 3 pics in a row not moving from the spot,,so why would what ever was on the lens move and why wasnt it on the other pics

Yeah, that really does look like a strap or something like RIGHT in front of the lens. When that happens, the flash is reflected into the camera and saturates the film (or electronic media) making the stuff you were taking a pic of look darker. That's usually the give-away sign that a physical object was blocking the lens. That's why I add "vorticies" or "vortexes" to my "orb" category. Taking pics in the dark, especially outside, is bound to be problematic.

I'm also very interested in Pic 3 where I have circled - I had a closer look at it and it looks of a transparent nature. Could you re-post the original full size pic of this one please! as I'd like to zoom into it closer without it going pixelized!

In brief, the thing in the bottom left hand corner of the first picture is your finger. The bit in the upper right side is harder to place, however I would venture smoke or a shadowing effect caused by the finger in the corner (notice how the darkness seems to stretch out and expand until it hits the upper right, which is a tell-tale sign of flash obstruction). This is a very common occurence, especially when holding the camera on its side to take the picture. The light area on the right could also be a reflection of the flash off the glass in the window.

In the second picture...your camera must have an invisible strap, because that is one if I've ever seen it. Add into the fact that on your typical camera the strap is attached on the right-hand side of the camera, while the flash is on the opposite side, and your average picture taker will tilt the camera so that the flash is on the lower side (increasing both the 'finger apparition' and the 'camera strap ghost') the strap therefore hangs directly in the field of view. The only other explanation I can think of, other than an actual paranormal event, is a flashlight beam being waved up and down in front of the camera.

guys i dont know how to explin to you that i didnt move the camera,or the placement of my hands i snaped the pic looked in the video screen on the back of the camera spread my fingers wider even tho i didn think it was in the way snaped the pic again saw the long white strain on the screen said holy sh** snaped a third pic and nothing was there,,haha and i dont have a invisible strap there is no strap..

im not here to trick anyone..this is just something we have saved from our trip and a conversation piece.these are the only ones i cant explain but i know the explinations given wont work..no one has ever seen anything like this ??

1. no strap

2.i didnt move the camera but a inch or so between pics.

3.how does the light source move upwards if the strap is hanging down over the lens

4 the 3rd pic has nothing in it at all.for it to be dirt or hair on the lens,,i never whiped it and the other pics we took that night had nothing that looked close to this

5. we didnt have a flash light we had to use our cell phones to light our way.

6.the camera is small its a older 3.2 mega pix and its big enough to wear i have never put my finger in the way before.

i can repost the full size image its on my moms computer,so ill have to get it off of there,i all ready shrank them in my photobucklet account,if you want send me you email addi because its a huge pic..

Well if it's not a strap, did your jacket maybe have a string on it? And if it was a hair it wouldn't have necessarily had to have come from your own head.

I'm not trying to be a downer or anything but I've seen tons of camera strap pics and that one looks exactly like one.

Agreed.

Even if it isn't a strap, it is a PHYSICAL object that reflects the flash's light back into the camera. Its not even as disputable as an orb, it is a real thing right in front of the camera. I have seen quite a few credible ghost photographs as well, and apparitions etc. never appear as solid as whatever is in front of the lens. And the first picture IS your finger in the bottom left. There's not even a question there.

well i dont know what to say.i dont believe it was my finger,,no one else thinks its od that the lights source is on the same side of the lens as my saposed finger? it starts in one corner the travels up ward in the next and then there is nothing in the 3rd pic...i never wiped my lens clean i never even moved the camera lower then eye level and it was in the middle of august in south louisiana no one was wearing a jacket..

now the only thing i could possibly think it might could have been was maybe a spiderweb...i went threw all those pics looking for stuff and there were a lot of spider webs lots,and i remember how i was more scared of running into the big ass banana spiders then ghost,,maybe one could have been passing in the slight breeze..there really wasnt any wind and it was a *spam filter* muggy night...

im not upset that people are questiong these pics at alll if i didnt take them i would call b.s. also..infact thats how i ended up on this sight looking for other saposed ghost pics to compare..

but for me to get my finger in the pic then a spiderweb on the same side at the exact second i took a pic...wow what are those odds.

I'm pretty confident that the Myrtles is haunted as hell, though!

something else i just thought of...if it was a finger in one pic and a hair in the other.wouldnt the color be somewhat diffrent not the same blinding white?? just a randome thought

I looked at it...it looks like a smudge on the camera lens.

Also..the picture isn't exactly the BEST(computers will distort the pixels and "stretch" them). To prove it..just look at the window cover. The white and brown at the bottom seem to "smudge" together.

As for the first two pictures it has to be SOMETHING in front of it...something physical that you may or may not have noticed.

Welcome to UM. Were these pictures of the cottages on the side of the house. The cottages that are seperate located by the pond out back? I have been there, snce my ex-Gf's land is a few miles away. It is called Camp Solitude...formerly known as the Barrow Plantation.

That area has a lot of history. I never encountered anything paranormal when I went.

PS- I love the giftshop out front.

ill concede that it must have been something phyiscal but a camera strap isnt one of the working choices..

but we really enjoyed our time at the myrtles..both times we went and it looks like we are gonna make a thing out of it an go once a year...or atleast try another haunted place to check out.

LOL .... I like you humor my friend. Just a thought. I have stayed there before. i have suspision that once the lights go out, it could easily be the staff of the Myrtle Plantation making things go "bump" in the night. IMO.

we stayed in the small rooms across from the pond,boith times so i dont know what happens in the house at night..in the quaters we just heard a tapping it was driving me crazy,,sounded like water dripping in a pan,,it was real faint but once you heard it you couldnt ignore it...i think what else with the myrtles is the lack of ambiant noise,,no tvs no radios,so the noise you hear is alwasy there in any old house but the sound is drowned out by everyday life.

the second time we went we brought the lap top and watched a movie wile going to sleep an we didnt hear anyhting and it took all the creepy out of the night.
