CLERIC'S FINAL WARNING

Radical cleric Moqtada al Sadr will be killed or captured if he continues to resist Coalition troops in Najaf, the Iraqi defence minister has warned.

American and Iraqi troops are continuing to advance on the rebel leader's stronghold at the Imam Ali mosque.

Dozens of Iraqi national guardsmen have joined US troops around the shrine for the first time.

Tanks and armoured vehicles are reportedly just 200 yards from the mosque.

"If Moqtada Sadr surrenders, he will be safe and sound," defence minister Hazem al Shaalan said.

"If he resists, the only thing for him is death or prison."

He added: "We are in the last hours.

"This evening, Iraqi forces will reach the doors of the shrine and control it and appeal to the Mehdi Army to throw down their weapons.

"If they do not, we will wipe them out."

The militia has been in an uneasy stand-off with American Marines around the Imam Ali mosque for three weeks.

I think they let this go on a bit too long in my opinion.

Perhaps we could send him this graphic to inspire him to change his mind:

He is directly responsible for at least 150 american deaths. I hope our soldiers do the world a favor and eliminate this scurge from the face of the earth. He and others like him should be given the oppertunity to recieve their 72 virgins now!!!
