Thank you Hardcore Zen Master, for reminding me that the truth is never beautiful or happy.
However, I doubt you speak the
truth on this matter at all... you are instead voicing your own
opinion and it is decisively pessemistic and negetive.

Pseudo-intellectuals(in particular, pseudo-intellectuals who sport a low to non-existent humanity) love to try manipulating the facts around to create views that suit them and see how many people believe their views using creative wording and nearly obsessive searches for the most credible sounding BS.
This was an obvious
SLAM directed at my previous post about how I enjoy telling Urban Legends and Scary stories, and how I keep finding the best (scariest) ways to deliver them to my audience.
You then went on in your next paragraph to outline how most Urban Legends in the mainstream today are done so with a "political agenda" in mind, with the intentions of getting us to think, act, or be a certain way... Yup. The Killer Clown story will make me buy war bonds and make me think about staying faithful to my church....
That isn't the truth. That's your sad opinion.
Have a lovely day!

Thank you... I hadn't had my fill of rhetorical masturbation yet today!
First of all, nothing was a slam on you... it was a slam on psuedo-intellectuals who like to make sh** up. Let me put it this way- for every person who's able to produce a decent fact, opinion or random thought, there's at least 50 people who just pull stuff out of their butts trying to be smart. Where in there did I ever say you were someone like that?
If you really have so low of self-esteem that your're seeing insults written in the clouds, get therapy and quit the pity party.
Second off, I would really like to know where I said Urban Myths are politically motivated. I never said that... I simply said that several of the popular sites from the current Urban Myths craze are casting mudslinging as lore. Since I have to pull out a crayon for you, I'll tell you something:
Some of the sites that became popular off the recent Urban Myths craze are using their newfound fame to attempt swaying opinions on mainstream politics and entertainment. The sites I mentioned are merely the most frequent(and in some cases blatant), but quite a few I never mentioned still do it. For instance, a picture of Alexandria Kerry in a silk-dress that the lights made see-through is not an urban myth... it's a slam on the Kerry family by a site run by Bush supporters. Yet, these sites felt the need to put it up as a myth. Janet Jackson's wardrobe stunt was not an urban myth, but snopes and straightdope felt the need to put it up as one, as if the 6 months of news coverage didn't whine about it enough...
In fact, out of the 267 "true" urban myths by the time and noriety standard for the genre, the site that has the most only has 27... the rest of it is them trying to pass news off as myths, slamming icons they don't like, and making sh** up.
However, the killer clown is a propoganda stunt to make you buy war bonds- you were quite astute on that. Give yourself a gold star, remember that you're not supposed to lick the paste off the back. And don't forget your helmet... I'm so proud of you that you're getting to ride in the FRONT seat today while we buy you a new hat...
