Me too Mid`s now whats on the agenda for this weeks training? Im ready for roll call and have all the mission stores list ready for you to approve ! :tu:

Well,
I can take the mission stores now.
They can be checked.

But this week begins some tricky Mars atmospheric flying training.  Looks like we'll be flying the shuttles around, but Sweetie's going to be making some long trips around the planet as well.  Mars flying is kind of tricky.  Sally, Bade and I will be working it alot over the next month!

Sweetie's retrofits are going to be a bit heavy as well.   We're going to be weighing in at over 1 million pounds  (We need to add He-3 reserves (You know from the face to Spirit is half way around the planet?!).  We may be changing our landing site as well to avoid 7000 mile trips...and of course, Martian weather is a little touchy at times too!

Ya Hoo!
Practice, practice, practice, D!

By the way, Newbie zero G training commences this Saturday, 1-21.
No Vomit comets here....we're doing large parabolae aboard Sweetie, with Sally at the helm.

We plan several sessions with everyone, then, we're going to do a short hop around the end of the month, into orbit, for a day of zero g familiarity.   That'll make the mission's roughly 110 hours of zero g flight time seem like a flash in the pan!

Hey Skyeagle - can you sort the next in flight movie please? I just woke up from the last one, and like 150 pages have gone past.

LINK - You win fan boys: George Lucas is retiring from blockbusters - Lucas's last blockbuster about Tuskegee airmen

Lucas has personally bankrolled the entire production of Red Tails, which tells the story of the Tuskegee airmen, the African American pilots who won glory during the Second World War but whose feats have largely been ignored.

You would be the best man for the job I figure :tu:

Cheers.

Hwy HAZZ, ever have any fixed wing time?

Maybe you'd accept my invite to Sweety's flight deck for liftoff and boost into Earth orbit next month???

After all, this adventure was your origination.

HAZZ:

We'll talk to Sal about using that as a preview for some of the movies we're planning to show on the big screen during the flight...and the flight!
That reminds me...

Flying the other day, I remembered that SAL has this amazing training program that can assist you in actual flight.

Ever had any fixed-wing time?
How would you like to be on the flight deck for liftoff, climbout, and insertion into orbit?  You have to be able to hack around 3.7 g on the flight deck for around 8 minutes.

And, maybe some stick time during climb out???

After all, it's your party, and flying that helicopter the way I saw...well, you got to give it a shot!
Flight deck, comfy seat, a few gs to make you go WOOOOOOO!
and, Jameson's, courtesy of Bade, on deck!

A couple,... Never liked it though,... I guess its one of those "if you push it fast enough it will fly" things.

RCH vs FW.

I have no idea why, but thats the way it was at LGB back in the 90s. FYI (I can believe I just said that) A helicopter, especially the R-22 took some focus to master. As an instructor, I have seen grown men shead tears,... Seriously.
I still await the compelling Exhibit A.
