I'm not expecting to have a shining reply that tells me exactly where it's laying, but I'm also open to the possibility of that happening. All I know is I had it for probably a few days to a week, then it disappeared. A month or 2 later, it's still missing, I cleaned out and inspected most every area of my room, and still no git-damned TV remote. I use Netflix on a PS3 which is nice so that I can control all TV watching aspects with the wireless PS3 controller.. except volume. I want to change it while I lay down! Help me, if you please! Even if you don't think you are psychic, take a guess. Sometimes things magically work out like that. Where the @#$% is my TV remote control?!! Hugh Posted July 10, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2014 Just guessing here... it was put down somewhere, maybe where you took it to change the batteries, and it was left in that room, maybe it got put on a shelf there, or fell behind something... Could have been wrapped up in a bedsheet by accident and thrown in the laundry area, look around there... in between the mattress and boxspring of the bed, maybe it got shoved in there while making the bed... under the bed... behind the headboard... I think this might be the final frontier. I half-butted it checking around the bed. Honestly, I really think it could only be in 1 of 2 places, and it wasn't anywhere in the TV area. I've been as far to pull back the bed from the wall, but only found an old toothbrush, and (somewhat happily) the battery I lost months ago to my Canon Rebel. Too bad I bought 2 new batteries last month. My 2 mattresses sit on wood planks, a few of which have fallen off, which are suspended a foot and a half or so off the ground. Drawers are also in that foot and a half or so, and I have dug a bit through them. But I haven't gone as far into the bed searching as I could have yet. Time to get brave - buy a cheap universal and go thru the pain and horror of finding the right 8 digit code to match your device (well, it will match everything but the two most useful functions..). I had already found the universal code, trying out the cable remote on it, which is useless for my new watching situation. But as opposed to going the route of buying a universal remote, I would rather just go the route of getting a Vizio replacement remote off of Amazon. But that doesn't resolve my unscratched itch of finding out where my remote is sitting right now. Unless it somehow wound up in an Amazon warehouse. That would be awesome. Eventually you will find it under something or placed somewhere unexpected. Once I *lost* a book and later found it in the refrigerator next to a bottle of iced tea. Check your pillow cases, if you have siblings or roomates you can attempt to beat the location of the remote out of them, google torture techniques if you must. I would also turn your coach upside down, you'd be amazed at what you'll find in there, last time I did it I found close to $6.00 in change, a cell phone that wasn't even mine, a gameboy and a condom (unused, guess I didn't have much luck that night ).
