Still Waters Posted February 3, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2015 Visual, or optical, illusions show us that our minds tend to make assumptions about the world - and what you think you see is often not the truth. Illusions have a long history, going as far back as the ancient Greeks. In AD350, Aristotle noted that that "our senses can be trusted but they can be easily fooled". http://www.bbc.com/f...mind/index.html
Empty Garden Posted February 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Great topic, and oh so true. There is that show on TV, Nat Geo I think, called Brain Games. It covers these sort of illusions. It really makes you wonder about how easily humans can be deceived.

Lucas Cooper Merrin Posted February 6, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2015 Is it a case of the eyes tricking the mind or the mind tricking the eyes?
