Lt_Ripley Posted October 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2009 seems Beck lost 19 more advertisers this week .. making that number to be well over 80 now... Graham disses Beck, fellow Republicans pile on Posted on 02 October 2009 by William Moultrie Washington – On the heels of Sen. Lindsey Graham’s public rebuke of conservative commentator Glenn Beck, scores of Graham’s fellow Republicans have joined in and expressed their distaste for the Fox News star. sir-lindsey Senator Graham is being hailed as a hero of the republic and a Republican hero. “It feels so good to say what we’ve all been thinking for so long,” said House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH). “Glenn Beck is a menace to our party and an unnecessary sideshow distracting us from the real work we need to do.” “It took real guts for Lindsey be the first to call him out,” said Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS), “and when I saw that so many of my Republican colleagues were backing him up, I wanted to be the first in line to join them.” In a scene reminiscent of Joseph Welch’s famous rebuke of Sen. Joe McCarthy in the Army-McCarthy Hearings of 1954, Graham called out Beck, saying that “Only in America can you make that much money crying,” and continued, “Glenn Beck is not aligned with any party. He is aligned with cynicism and there has always been a market for cynics.” Fox News declined to comment for this story, but rumors have been circulating that Friday’s show would be Beck’s last on the network. Brad Johnson, an assistant producer at the network who worked on Beck’s show agreed to talk on the record, saying that Friday would be his last day anyway. “Glenn has no clue that it’s over,” Johnson said, “he’s really in his own world now, and I don’t know, maybe it’s a fun world to be in, but it’s sure not our world. I just saw him up there twenty minutes ago recording some promos for next week, and he was completely oblivious to the fact that not only were the cameras not on, but there was nobody manning them or even in the control room.” Media watchers have been detailing the flight of advertisers from the show for months, but the latest word is that even his fellow Fox commentator, Bill O’Reilly, has asked that promos for the O’Reilly Factor not be shown during Beck’s show. cont .. SilverCougar Posted October 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2009 About time. Now if they'ed rebuke Fox all together. That news station really has *NOT* done the republicans any favours. If anything, they've caused more of a rift in this country. Now if we can get msnbc's lips pried off of the dem's buttcheeks...
seax Posted October 7, 2009 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2009 They'll be back...they're just throwing a little tantrum. His ratings keep going up...filling stadiums at appearances...kinda like AARP...a few trying to speak for the masses. AARP has lost over 40,000 members over a few hard headed CEO's. And more to fall off their list. seax

Sam Brownback (R-KS), “and when I saw that so many of my Republican colleagues were backing him up, I wanted to be the first in line to join them.” Hmm, a trait that explains why republicans watch Glenn Beck and fall in love with his BS. 'Bought time sense was involved. That bit about Beck practicing for his show is just a little unnerving, but funny. Beck isn't even Republican so why does this article seem to suggest that? Because republicans watch him and believe him. His beliefs as republicans' beliefs may seem to suggest that he himself is? I think the last straw was when they lost the Snuggies account Aw. Lt_Ripley Posted October 7, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Beck isn't even Republican so why does this article seem to suggest that? because Beck has been calling himself until recently a conservative republican who now considers himself conservative independent. I guess because Republicans have been following him ? agreeing ? until now ? My link
Caesar Posted October 7, 2009 #10 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Ron Paul is a republican but many of his views don't reflect the republican party but the Republican party shares more of his views then the left, kinda like Glenn Beck.
Fluffybunny Posted October 7, 2009 #11 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Beck isn't even Republican so why does this article seem to suggest that? I think because the people who love him so much are...the people ultimately linked to the sponsors...the money base.

Pseudo Intellectual Posted October 7, 2009 #13 Share Posted October 7, 2009 (edited) People, you do realize the GOP is a political party, and that anyone, be they liberal, conservative, libertarian, fascist, socialist (etc) can identify themselves as Republicans, right? The GOP does have a set of [Republican] values, but it's not an ideology; it's a political party. Anyone can join. Caesar Posted October 7, 2009 #14 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Ya just like Beck LOL to funny. Are you drunk again??? Both are conservitives but views do not reflect the main Republican base so its common that they don't always get along.

True but the far right are libertarian. things like spending and how to use the military in conflicts don't match many views with the Republican base. Caesar Posted October 7, 2009 #17 Share Posted October 7, 2009 Are you being a jackass again.... yup you are but typical of your sort really. Your post makes no sense, do you even bother to read them? Beck gets just as many attacks as Ron Paul because they both lean libertarian then the conservitives base. I mean, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion. The latter part of you post, though... that's the same thing Linsey Graham said about his show -- him doing a good job on ACORN. That's interesting. And how do you mean exposed "Obama's czars"? You know the first person to appoint czars was Roosevelt, not Obama; that Bush had them too -- even more than Obama; that it's only a nickname (I don't normally link to Wikipedia but you can't find much info on this subject)? Other than that -- if you knew that... what about Obama's czars?
Pseudo Intellectual Posted October 8, 2009 #25 Share Posted October 8, 2009 Dummy, I wasn't talking about all czars; just Obama's. Take Van Jones, for example.
