What people in the US do is no concern of mine; you decide what is right for your country.

I'm an Australian citizen, however, and in my country I don't want the majority of people to have access to firearms.

I moved to France just about 4 years ago, of course I had to leave all my guns in the US.  To be honest I mist them.  There isn't any protection here from the police who are more scared of bad guys than the population (las year two cops ran away from 4 teens drinking in a park and carrying knifes).  Because of some stoopid socialists laws, Cops are not allowed to shoot without an outcry of the leftist media and justice.  A police officer has more chances to end up in jail for usin hs gun than a criminal.  Just yesterday I signed a petition to allow self defence.  UN disarmed France in the early 80's when a socialist government was in place was devastating.  Even in small town like the one I live now there isn't any safe time of day.  Mother has been robbed once, a friend of hers once, my neighbor twice.  I'm setting iron bars on the windows of the second floor, already have some on the first..

And guess what, only illegal immigrants now are armed (with SKS and 45 cal 1911s)(SKS Chinese kalashnikovs very cheap to buy and very good quality)

No, I disagree. You don't need to "defend" your property with a firearm. You don't need a firearm.

I wish all the morons in America who think like you moved to your country.

I love how people in the US think that guns are the answer to everything....

I love how people from other countries think they know whats best for me and my family. You dont think you need a fire arm, great, dont have one. But what gives you the right to tell me what I need?

edit to add-didnt see your next post. Thanks for at least understanding that my guns are no one elses business.

Agree 100%.  Although I don't keep mine around for protection as much as sport.  What's more fun than going out and firing off a hundred or so rounds from an AR-15 and AK-74?

Me too. I got kids here, so they have to be under lock. My only hope to use them as defense is if my 2 rotties give me enough time to get everything unlocked.

Edit to add- have you seen the exploding targets? Oh man we have a blast (no pun intended) taking a few of them out into the woods. I cant even believe they are legal. Especialy here in NY.

You consider that a sport? The shooting sport I have seen so far looks very different.

That you can own a gun for protection is one thing, but that you can simply take your high caliber guns to the woods and shoot some explosivbe targets goes beyond my comprehension.

It is sport. If you dont think so lets take a walk into some wood lands and see if you can hit the same targets I can from 100 yards or so. Sure it isnt football where you have to sweat, but it definnitly takes skill.

Whats wrong with being allowed to shoot exposive targets in the woods? Im grown. I shouldnt have to have big brother holding my hand telling me what I can and cant do. I dont need anyone to protect me from myself.  So long as you follow proper safty standards, there is no harm in it at all.

Oh stop. There is nothing wrong with some guys shooting targets in the woods. My father was about the biggest prick on this planet. The only good memories I have with him were target shooting, or hunting/fishing. Its a great way for a father and son to bond.

Not only that but I save a fortune in buying meat every year.

I got a couple shotguns in the house, but they would be my last choice for home defense. I keep them locked up proper and it takes time I might not afford to dig out the shells in one spot and unlock the gun in another. They would also be a last choice because I have enough other weapons around the house that reaching for them would just be easier and quicker than going for a gun.
