The news that 50-year-old DNA provided a break in the Boston Strangler murder case may have you wondering: just how long does DNA last?

i seem to remember someone finding tree DNA up in the arctic circle somewhere (greenland/iceland?) that was half a million years old and in good condition, but i don't know if that's as long as it lasts?
depends how it's kept i suppose.
i'm assuming that it was frozen, being so far up north, so if they can dig pollen out from ice cores that are even older, then who knows....?

all posts- without exception- are humourous.
if you fail to grasp the sublety, then don't whine on due to your lack of understanding.
