These modern scientists are always making claims of oldest this or that, its all about "fortune and glory Short Stop, fortune and glory". Just the now standard scientific grandstanding in hopes of getting big funding. Nothing more.

Which dating method was used? Which geochronology lab is involved in this dating? How reliable are the samples submitted? Did the scientists (as is the standard practice) submit their own presumed, preconceived dates? If so did the lab results really coincide or did the lab have widely varying (often the case) dates? If so did they picked the ones the scientists suggested? Are they sure the samples weren't contaminated?

Are we likely to ever know? No.

As always don't let the public know the paleontologists' "dirty little secret".

Only suckers and ignoramuses believe these kinds of "scientific" show staging claims.

As for all the laughable comments on the bible, only ignoramuses who know strictly nothing of biblical historicity and its ubiquitous archaeological support spew forth such codswallop.

Whilst this is amazing news, it is not unbelievable at all. Stromatolites have been dated to that extent before. It has crept out a bit, but not to some astounding extent.
