We do not execute mental defectives, Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib 1) are not in my country, and 2)are under military jurisdiction not civilian.  Chain gangs none.

No, but you can go in a church, cuss at Putin even if he is not there, and that would be blasphemous since blasphemy, the world-over, is not going to use the strict defintion you provided. "Insulting people's religious sentiments" such as cussing in a church would be considered blasphemy in Russia.

Let’s start with:  
Isn't dealing with blasphemy within civil law something only theocracies do?
Why is Russian definition of blasphemy directly dependant on political implications of particular blasphemy? (see mother Fotina example)
Should saying out loud you don’t like someone’s politics really be punishable with gulag?
Isn’t sending people to gulag for having different opinion totally the same evil Soviet crap?
What has really changed in Russia then? Rhetorics? Symbolics? Is that breakthrough or catching naive flies into web of very superficial deception?
Why should I (or any other sane human being) believe Russian old totalitarianism in new clothes and expansionism it brings, is in any way good?

Is it possible to have a truly democratic society without separation of the church and the state? If you are in favour of non-democratic society, please elaborate why.

Do you notice different treatment of particular religious transgressions in your society today and if so, how do you explain such discrepancy?

Should political protest really be punishable with gulag?

Isn’t sending people to gulag for having different opinion totally the same practice as it was seen during Soviet era?

Would you be so kind to explain to the outsider what has changed in Russia, compared to Soviet era? Would you define those changes as fundamental or superficial?

Is there are a reason why you think debaters that are not citizens of Russian Federation are bound by the same laws that forbid criticism, if such laws are existing? If not, why are those pussies in gulag?

Here's the problem, the band PussyRiot is (obviously) not an insult. However, other forms of this word are used to denote a wimpy person or female genitalia. The forum obscenity filter is not sophisticated enough to comprehend subtle differences in word usage. I hope this clears things up...just spell the band name without spacing.
