Are you an expert in bats to be able to tell when a bat is terrified? Perhaps the sporadic flying patterns of the bats is more in line with them chasing the bugs that they do in fact see using their echo-location. Have to be faster/craftier than the object you are chasing in order to catch it.

I agree with psyche on this - OP cant be serious. Even my 7 year old (who loves the paranormal stuff) know about "rods"/buggs.

I still await the compelling Exhibit A.

I'm enjoying this moth theory more and more..
It's their non-transparent wings that are persuasive.
And I totally get the idea that birds get picked up in this fashion.
They could even be butterflies but not beetles.
Because the ones that fly tend to stay low to the ground.
And I've totally ruled out all other insects because of the state of their wings.
You can't make them out whatever shutter speed you use.

It all has to do with the shutter speed on the camera being used. "Rods" have been conclusively shown to be bugs and birds of all kinds.

Watch the video that Rlyeh posted belong my other post.

Why. Because you havent seen one. Theres lots of hoaxes out there on these but theres alot of witnesses of these rods.

How is this new?  Rods were claimed and explained as far back as the late 1990s

How many witnesses?
The entire phenomena only occured on film which is explained by the camera speed.

If your saying the OP. Yeah. But rods are not limited to that. Go read your Irish folklore if you want to hear stories about such things. Talk to a crankster. Theyll surely tell you theres rods out there. Just saying.

Yes, as everyone else has said, rods are old news and have been debunked quite a few times. They have been shown to be nothing more than being the result of a slow shutter speed on a camera recording an insect flying. I believe they showed this on MonsterQuest but I am not sure of that.

You're the one making statement. Now you're telling me to read about myths and ask crackpots? Good job.

To me, I first time heard it in article I provided.
