Still Waters Posted January 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 9, 2016 A US judge has ruled that a macaque monkey who snapped grinning selfies that went viral last year online does not own the copyright to the photographs. Activist group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals brought the case in San Francisco on behalf of Indonesian simian Naruto, who shot to fame last year after a photographer published pictures taken by the monkey with his camera. PETA petitioned the court to have the macaque "declared the author and owner of his photograph." http://news.discover...ight-160107.htm

bubblykiss Posted January 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2016 Guess this one will end up at the SC. I was just thinking "you pick and choose your fights. And when you pick stupid ones you end up looking dumb". Why, out of all the animal rights battles that anybody could have championed, did they pick this first world world problem?
Eldorado Posted January 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 10, 2016 Typical. One law for the rich another law for monkeys.
