This movie had alot to live up to, if it wanted to be as good as the first one. I myself haven't seen this one, but i saw the first one, which was good. But in the japanese versions your always scared because of the way their eyes look and the musical score and camera angles it's just great filmmaking! Yes...most American directors have the annoying inability to make a "horror" movie...they instead turn them into slasher flicks. A good horror movie should be psychological, and actually have an element in it that's disturbing...the Ring lacked that for me. At the end though, I did think that maybe the monsters were real, when she was being chased by that guy, but I was questioning evreything in an attempt to beat Mr. Shalymen.
