I read this at Forteana Times. Creepy story.

'Vampire' on the prowl

By Elizabeth Reeve

A SNARLING 'vampire' repeatedly tried to bite the neck of his victim during a sinister attack in Bishop's Stortford.

Like a scene from a horror movie, the assailant - dubbed Dracula by neighbours - leaped out of the darkness.

[News - Dracula]

MOVIE MENACE: Residents have dubbed the attacker Dracula

His victim, a 43-year-old man, was attacked as he put out rubbish at his home in Sandle Road, Hockerill, last Wednesday at 9.50pm.

The fiend grabbed him and tried to bite his neck. The pair wrestled for some time before the victim managed to fight him off.

He called police and later alerted neighbours to the bizarre incident.

"They're nicknaming the attacker Dracula," said one, who had heard that three women had been set upon in the Hockerill area. "He gropes them and bites their necks."

Another said of the attack: "The guy jumped out of nowhere, hissing and snarling, and attempted to bite his neck several times.

"The victim felt the guy was acting out a Dracula character.

"The next evening the victim posted notes through doors explaining what had happened.

"He said he didn't want to cause any worry but did want to tell people so we could be vigilant.

"I've heard rumours that there have been other attacks - several on men and one on a woman."

Sandle Road is a quiet, private street. "We've only got one street light so it's quite dark here at night," said the female neighbour.

"I've always felt quite safe because you can hear any noise on the gravel road surface. This has made me more vigilant.

"I make sure my windows are closed and I've started carrying a panic alarm now."

She thought the attacker might be on drugs or have mental health issues.

Another resident said: "It's freaky - you don't expect it to happen on your doorstep."

The attacker was about 6ft (1.83m) tall and wore a beige combat jacket, jeans and trainers.

One woman believes she may have spotted him earlier in the day.

Herts police are investigating. A spokesman said: "We have only been told about this one assault. We are not linking it to anything else."

Witnesses or anyone with information can contact police on 0845 3300 222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Yeah, this is some dude pretending to be a vampire :santa:

I think if it were a real vampire these guys would not be fighting it off by brute strength alone. Vampires are suppose to have superhuman strength an abilities right? At least they do in all the vampire movies I see. I think this guy is a poser and I do not believe in real vampires. Any one claiming to drink blood or need blood to survive needs to be put in a mental institution or think of a better role model to emulate ;)

''She thought the attacker might be on drugs or have mental health issues.'' I personally think that's the answer , I've seen loads of videos ( and know people ) that think they are vampires , Have the teeth faked and drink other peoples blood.

''One woman believes she may have spotted him earlier in the day.'' well.. correct me if i'm wrong aren't Vampires practically allergic to sunlight? or is he like Blade? a day walker? Nah i don't reckon it's true.. just a poser as the others said.

Most certainly a deranged individual. Vampires do not attack people like that. They use the Astral / Ether to take the prana they need. They don't have super human strength, although they have the ability to utilize their prana / energy in supernatural ways. While it is true that fresh blood contains an abundance of clean clear prana, biting the neck is Hollywood.

I couldn't agree more.

I believe that the modern day "vampire" (also the more believable one) takes ones energy in order to replenish their own.

There are a few things that I'm not quite sure about just yet, though. For example, I think that there is a possibility that humans have always been the vampires, but like in the stories and movies we keep ourselves secret because we know and understand the power over energy that we have, and it's not something to go flawnting around. (Ie: People will think you're crazy and it could be dangerous)

Also, whether that is true or not I do believe that we already transfer energy's (ie: emotions) to those around us accidentally. However, those who have an open mind can learn to control it (thus becoming a vampire), but it is very hard to master, let alone control. (Yes, I have learned to control it to a degree...I'm able to use it upon will, but the outcome for the one I'm taking energy from is always a surprise. :unsure2: )

But seriously, this guy just sounds like some stupid person trying to live out a fantasy.

(though the movie and story vampires would be a nice change from our boring reality.)

^_^
