We have people coming for midday (lunch or dinner) and evening (tea or dinner) meals. Ive just been cooking the turkey preparing potato salad, cheese and carrot salad, a garden salad, and coleslaw. My wife, in the same small kitchen, has been cooking the pudding, custard, a jelly with pineapple, and preparing plates of fruit nuts etc (We decided to put off dressing the pavlova til this afternoon and just go withte pudding and fruit plate for midday.) We are still speaking to each other just but had to divide the kitchen in half to survive amicably.
I remember now why i get stressed at christmas. Haven't even had to time yet to open the presents except for a hamper filled with home made goodies like mayonaise and chutneys and sauces, from my sister in law, which we will have with our meals. Fairly simple meals. Cold meats except for the turkey, but lots of cherries, water melons, cheeses, bonbons and bangers, lol.
Better go and set the table; the guests start arriving in about half an hour.
My wish for everyone is a peaceful and stress- free christmas, or as close to it as you can manage.

You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world..
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
