Ken Wilman, 50, was out walking on Morecambe beach when his dog Madge started sniffing a lump of rock. He told Sky News: "At first I thought it was a football but as I got closer I realised it was a big stone. http://news.sky.com/...lk-worth-100000

freetoroam Posted January 31, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2013 Whale vomit is also known as ambergris and is used to make perfume. It is formed in the digestive system of sperm whales and has a very strong and unpleasant aroma. Yep, I have spelt some of these perfumes on the tube...arggghhh. Anyway, I`m off to the beach with my rubber gloves, dog and bucket.....hopefully I can send you all a postcard in a few days time.

Still Waters Posted September 26, 2015 Author #17 Share Posted September 26, 2015 (edited) Updated thread... You've updated the thread with a different news story. Not the same man, not the same beach, not the same lump of whale vomit. Just to clarify this is the guy in the OP - A dog walker who thought he had struck gold for two years after finding a large lump of smelly whale vomit has been told it is just a worthless rock. http://www.telegraph...-worthless.html *Thread Closed* Edited September 26, 2015 by Still Waters Added source link
