"I just want to say liberals you could actually lose me. It's outrageous what we're paying over 50 percent. I'm willing to pay my share, but yeah, it's ridiculous,"

Evidently, he never realized that the top 10% pay 70% of the burden in this country.

The top 10% are the ones that have the money and all the deductions.  Most wealthy only pay about 12%.

Just because the top have more money doesn't mean that they should pay more.  Where is it written that it is ones duty to pay more of your money to the government if you are wealthy?  The top 10% should pay 10% and the bottom 10% should pay 10% and if the government can't deal with that and stay within their means, they need to start cutting spending.  How more fair can that be?

Actually the bottom 50% ( < $32,000 ) gets a little more in deductions.  They effectively pay about 2%.

The top 10% of wage earners should pay 100% of the income taxes.   The bottom 90% should pay 0.

If 50% of Americans pay no income taxes, we're half-way home.

Careful, your Socialist side is showing.  If you hate welfare so much, what do you think will create more welfare than the solution you just presented?

ummmmmmmmmmmm, BULL!  not only do I pay around 12% to 15% out of every check, I also pay taxes every time I purchase something.  I would say that easily 20% of every dollar I make get taken out in taxes.  And single, no children (dependants) not a home owner, what the F deductions are you talking about?

so you would give the rich a huge abomination of a tax break, and destroy just about every government service. well done. not.

10% of a billion is what? $100,000??
that's a shedload of cash in tax. 10% is a drop in anyone's ocean, rich or poor can pay 10% with even the most rudimentary budget.

If your self employed,  like me,  you pay DOUBLE amount into  FICA (social security and medicare/aid)   Employers pay half of that .. for their employed.

Important:  The above may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, and other limitations.

I saw that show.  I don't like Bill much but it appears as he gets older, common sense may be creeping into his mind.

Taxation is a crime against humanity.  It is a special kind of theft.

You are taxed when you earn your money.
You are taxed when you spend your money (sales tax)
You are taxed every year if you "buy" real property (cars and homes)
You are taxed if you invest the money you have earned (and already paid taxes on) into stocks and bonds and make money that way.
You are taxed when you die (estate tax)
You are taxed if a family member dies and leaves you money or property (inheritance tax)

Criminal.

I understand that there are things that need to be done (bridges, roads, water, infrastructure and defense).  I understand that no one person or group should have to bear that burden...so we all contribute to a fund to get those things done.  We elect people to oversee and carry out these "chores"...

Somewhere along the way, the basic premise got perverted, warped and twisted.  It is no longer about serving the community and carrying out it's needs, wishes.  It has become a cash cow for the corrupt.  It is a broken system and only a total collapse and reboot is going to get it back on track.

Personally, I keep thinking this may be the only answer...
