calm my brain

Recommended Posts

I just had a discussion with a friend who recovered from depression and anxiety, he said the past trauma and mood actually only created by self, it does not existing , when he recovered he sudeenly realized this, and live in NOW only ,and he is a strong man trusting in God...

and now my brain is stopping me to do things again, it has emotion chaos to block my energy...i used to read spiritual books and talk to friends to calm and make it work again, but this time i feel the block is stronger,

but his words still seem to calm me a bit,

so i think there must be some ways to calm more,

spiritual is the only path to make the brain well again , i have another friend taken pills and still taking , i dont like that, and i m not that serious to need medicines,.

I hope to get more advice and help from here if possible,

cuz i m hard to find further help from my current place frown.gif

I rely on God now.

I got some good advice from a friend that told me when I'm worrying too much about what can or should be, or what I don't want and want to get away from, to stop and say to myself "let it be", or to just "be here now". And mean it. Just let it all go and stop worrying about anything and everything, just for that moment. Do something you want to do, and just live in that moment. Enjoy yourself for that minute. If you can do that as simply as you can, time will often bend in weird ways, and you'll find a time of peace. It's great!

I think I know how you feel. You had something great and you want it to never go away. So you stress about it, thinking it is gone to never return, any time you don't feel it. When you stop worrying about it is when it creeps up again. And how sweet it is, when everything around you is so good!

You're probably filling your mind with negative thoughts which can do major damage to your psyche. You can't control everything in life, remember to tell your brain that you can handle anything that comes your way. If you can handle anything that comes into your life, then there's nothing to fear or worry about.

Something I learned from a Neuro-psychologist. When you are stress out your breathing becomes rapid and flight or fight kicks in. If you slow down your breathing you calm down your brain. It signals your brain there is nothing to fear. Here is what he told me to do:

Breath in for 7 beats, hold it 7 beats, breath out 8 beats. In through the nose and out through the month. repeat until you are calm. It works very well for me. I use this breathing when I meditate. I have M.S. so my brain can be a bit wonky sometimes and my emotions go into overload. I have to stop and think is this my brain being wonky or do I really have reason to be upset. Another thing I was taught, worry does no good, it well just make you sick. If there is something you can do about the situation then do it, if not let it go. Either the solution will come to you when you stop thinking about it or time will take care of it.

That's very true. A coworker of mine told me probably the best advice I've gotten for dealing with stress while working. "Don't forget to breathe."

Some people need a spiritual thing in their life, to pass on the stress and the bad things of life and think 'well, it's caused by this but I'm helped by this'. Myself, as an atheist, I think that bad things happen because they just happen, and good things happen cause we strive for them to happen. Chance happens in both, just cause I strive to win the lottery, I'll still probably never win. Look at the good things in your life, hold them close, the bad things in life, don't dwell on them but use them to ascertain a course in your own life.
