Strange burns or branded marks on me

I am a believer of Christianity and also the paranormal, how? I can explain my beliefs in another post.

I woke today 9/14/14 noticing strange marks on my left knee, it wasn't a bruise, carpet burn nor a scrape. It was 14 slightly rounded squares located on my left knee all aligned in a perfect pattern. Some where shaded in fully while others were only the outline and a couple barely noticeable with the same shape. There is 5 darkly shaded, with one of the 5 darkest of them all. And 9 only with and outline of the squares with rounded edges.

I took pictures of my knee and then I tried to wash the marks off to see if it was ink or dye. The marks didn't smear, smudge nor come off. I looked closer and could see that it was burns and in my skin.

As I recall my day and night after noticing this, I have not bumped, fell, rubbed against nor felt anything against my knee. As I slept that evening, I wore jeans as I slept because I was sleeping on my mom's couch as I was visiting her for a day. I showered the night before, I awoke and saw the marks, and did not notice the marks on my knee. So I assume they appeared while I slept that night.

I can't think of why I have these marks, but when it comes to the supernatural I can only assume and rule out possibilities. I don't recall any strange happenings in my dreams or in the middle of the night.
