Has the body has thee parts Body, Soul, and Spirit or two parts Body and Soul?

02\11\2016

Most Christians today do not understand the different from Spirit of man and Soul of man but there is a different spirit from soul. Most atheists would care less if Christians would get it right or wrong but the fact some atheists made the same mistake in their logic meaning. Man was creative in God’s Image the Christians Claim but the atheists claim God has no image at all while the debate is long and a wasted of my time so I might share with Man is made up three parts or two parts.

We can look under “aboutkidshearlth” on the internet with the title “Baby’s First Breath” we can learn about the baby birth and what has do with soul life.

Note *** Baby's First Breath —- The most profound change at birth is your baby’s first breath. At this point, your baby’s lungs, which were filled with fluid during pregnancy, must suddenly fill with oxygen from the air. The fluid in the lungs is removed through the blood and lymph system, and is replaced by air. Your baby’s lungs must be able to exchange oxygen for carbon dioxide. At the same time, vigorous blood circulation in the lungs will begin. The first few breaths after birth may be the most difficult breaths your baby will take for the rest of her life.

* There are a couple of things that will stimulate your baby to take her first breath. Hormonal and other changes during labour slow down or stop the production of fluid in the lungs, and may initiate the reabsorption of fluid from the lungs. This process is unlikely to have occurred if labour was very short or did not occur at all, for example, if your baby was delivered by caesarean section. Furthermore, physical stimulation and handling during delivery will encourage your baby to breathe. There are probably many other factors that stimulate baby’s first breath, but they have not been identified yet.

* Your baby will need to work very hard to take her first breath, and her first few breaths may be shallow and irregular. With each breath after birth, more air will accumulate in her lungs, which will make it easier for her to breathe. After a few breaths, your baby will be able to breathe more easily, and her breaths will start to become deeper and more regular.

* As the fluid in your baby’s lungs is replaced by air, the increased amounts of oxygen will stimulate a blood vessel close to her heart called the ductus arteriosus to begin closing. The ductus arteriosus was important to your baby’s body before birth, to divert blood away from the lungs. After birth, your baby needs blood to circulate through the lungs, and therefore, the ductus arteriosus is no longer needed. The ductus arteriosus usually closes during the first or second day of life. At this point, your baby’s heart will pump and circulate blood in much the same way as an adult’s heart. The transition from fetal to adult circulation can take minutes or hours. Problems with your baby’s colour or breathing may be related to this delayed transition.

When we move on we will see that God breath into the first humans according to God’s truth the Book Genesis “…… And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul ………” which can only stand alone as part of God’s Truth’s. A child no matter what the child becomes in life begins as just a child of his parents because made sex to made the child. In life we are taught how children came into this world but not one an answers where we came from in the first place because we understand how where we come from now the how’s of it but no one has an answer to where we begin.

We all know about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation have been for many years if God breath into his nostrils that would be equate a person breathing for someone. When a child is born the child must fight to live outside the Mother’s Womb because its every need but it time to begin the weaning system outside the womb. While the child needs it mother guidelines in life to know how to live without their parent someday.

Note * Search babycenter under Inside Your Womb From the earliest signs of pregnancy you'll be amazed at how quickly your baby grows. When you're 9 weeks pregnant, your grape-sized baby has formed a distinctly human shape. By 14 weeks, your tiny one has tripled in size and can squint or frown. And when you're 28 weeks pregnant, your baby – now the size of an eggplant – is beginning to see light from the world outside the womb.

* First Trimester After fertilization and implantation, a baby is at first just an embryo: two layers of cells from which all the organs and body parts will develop. Growing quickly, your baby is soon about the size of a kidney bean and constantly moving. The heart is beating quickly and the intestines are forming. Your budding son or daughter's earlobes, eyelids, mouth, and nose are also taking shape.

* Second Trimester At the beginning of the second trimester, babies are about 3 1/2 inches long and weigh about 1 1/2 ounces. Tiny, unique fingerprints are now in place, and the heart pumps 25 quarts of blood a day. As the weeks go by, your baby's skeleton starts to harden from rubbery cartilage to bone, and he or she develops the ability to hear. You're likely to feel kicks and flutters soon if you haven't already.

* Third Trimester Babies weigh about 2 1/4 pounds by the start of the third trimester. They can blink their eyes, which now sport lashes. And their wrinkled skin is starting to smooth out as they put on baby fat. They're also developing fingernails, toenails, and real hair (or at least some peach fuzz), and adding billions of neurons to their brain. Your blossoming baby will spend his or her final weeks in utero putting on weight. At full term, the average baby is more than 19 inches long and weighs nearly 7 pounds.

The child most depend on its mother for oxygen to live because the child did not breath yet because did it all for the child her body removed the child wasted like pee and **** through her body. The control of the heart beat was because of mother blood flowed to the baby heart you see was connection to the baby through its umbilical cord.

* Umbilical cord From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

* Anatomical terminology

Now this cord will fall off naturally on its own and today some preferred it to fall out on its own in God word not the bible just old books that tell us the beginning theories of where we came from. So far I showed that the natural man otherwise the atheist and christian both have a body and a soul but there still debate to whether they have a spirit. In the gospel of John we read “… God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit …” otherwise spirit is tern used by the christians to push their beliefs no more no less.

The true atheist person has no belief in spirit but are one that claim to be a true atheist but they are some who believe in ghost. That is life after death no matter what some my say they might not believe in God but they do believe there is more to life. But for the truth of a true atheist they replace spirit with death the end of life but for the people who look for more there is hope.

One thing I've been taught, is that the Holy Spirit resides in us. All of us. Even the atheists have the Holy Spirit in them. They simply refuse to admit it.

Thus, I would agree that there is a body, a soul and a Spirit making up each person.

I think an atheist would argue there is no soul and no spirit, but that there is awareness... consciousness. Which we might some day detach using technology.

I do not think an atheist would even think there is no soul

the life of flesh is the soul

Leviticus 17:11 | For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Leviticus 17:14 | For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

Leviticus 17:12 | Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood.

Leviticus 7:27 | Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.

They atheist group understand that blood is part of their life

But How do you get the right to think that atheist have something that they do not want

note Added later

The reason this is mute augment or statement because it gives no room for the atheist to change their mind

That is mute augment here

consciousness is because the blood nothing other cut off the blood you have consciousness

One must work within the rules that they give us

thank you

I think that if you created a thread that had a poll attached, you'd see that probabably half the people who regularly post on UM do not believe we have a soul. That is my guess anyway 50%. In the general population in the US, I think it probably is closer to 10% to 15%. And in Europe it probably is between 20% and 30%. There are a lot of atheists and skeptics here on UM.

To steal a line from the TV show Seinfeld.... "Not that there's anything wrong with that...."

To an atheist we are just a meat machine that is running brain software.

I think an atheist would argue there is no soul and ...

that would give something to backup your words

But I hope atheist are smarter than that

Here are some sad statistics (or happy statistics if you are atheist :innocent: ).

Americans - 2013:

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/susan-jones/poll-americans-belief-god-strong-declining

--64 percent believe in the survival of the soul after death, down from 69 percent;

British - 2014:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/11145740/Poll-Do-you-believe-in-life-after-death.html

Yes, a part of us goes on living when our bodies give up 59.6% (2,073 votes)

No, it is wishful thinking – death really is the end 40.4% (1,405 votes)

IMO we do not 'go on living', we go on to death. Now, is there a spiritual element in the state of death (this is the real question). Personally, I believe there is...I have no proof mind you, but I do have reasons for my belief.

Atheism is just a lack of belief in a God, or Gods. It's not a statement that there is no God.

An Atheist can believe in all sorts of things, but mainly you will find them to be skeptical.

I see Atheists say there's no afterlife. I can see the logical conclusion from their perspective, but how would they know? I do not make the statement that there's no afterlife, just as I do not say there's no God. I will debate against non-evidence as proof for such things though.

Well, non-evidence is all the living will have in regard to death. To find such evidence one has to be dead...hence the problem. In the final analysis it has to come down to faith and what one chooses to believe.

while the christians hope for more which stands for non-evidence that their was in vain

otherwise there still hope

while atheist wish a sign there will be no sign to prove either point

that would too easy

I guess we will have die to know the truth

A concept I find very interesting Roy.

In the past, within Christianity there were distinctions between 'soul' and 'spirit', this with the concept of 'physical body' made up a triplicity ... which was really three concepts coming together to form a unity ( think of a triangle)

This triplicity is everywhere; from the 3 primary colours , 3 states of matter ... all the way through to spiritual concepts - Tao, Yin, Yang - God (father) , Son, Holy Spirit ... even man woman child. Its a universal ideal pattern ... in the real (manifestation world) they generate a 4th principle, so we have. for example , the ' natural primary colours ; red blue yellow green, and in the physical universe ; the 'four forces' ; weak, strong, electromagnetic ( the ideal triad) and gravity as the fourth (generated) force (that is why gravity does not fit in the same as others ... as in a 'unified field theory ) ..... anyway, I will jump over this bit - I do have a paper I wrote on it if you do want to read it .

The classic example is in the concept of the hermetic elements ; fire water air (ideal) and earth ( tangible and 'real' )

But church reforms from 1400 to 1600 changed the concepts (as they moved away from a perennial philosophy and an interest in Hermeticism / neoplatonism, etc . ) and they adopted a type of dualism ; the ideal ( things intangible , like feelings, emotions, concepts like spirit and soul ) and the 'real' (hard concrete 'reality' ) - soul and spirit sort of got lumped together . Nowadays they seem very vague and undefined terms, like a ghost or astral body that survives death and goes to heaven (or hell - dualism again ) .

Many divide the human experience into three; body mind soul or body mind spirit. I prefer the first as spirit and mind seem to equate better than spirit and soul ... soul is more connected to the the imagination and feelings - the emotional body (water) .

The way I see it ( an I have a 'non-religious' outlook) , I work on a basic four model as far as 'human psychic anatomy' goes (although I have an interest in the ancient Egyptian models that see more components than 4 ) .

I see 'spirit' as the conveyor of our own distinct and individual unique character, traits, personality and genius , its in all the higher animals .... one can even observe it in a little of puppies ( I dont mean the runt syndrome, the 'personality' emerges very early, even though they come from the same parents, environment, time etc. I had the opportunity to observe it develop in new born twins, bought up the same way, but very different little people ! )

I admit this process is a bit of a mystery to me , I feel more dynamics are present than just genetics and 'genetic consciousness' although that is a significant force in the process.

Soul, I see as something entirely different . The more I wrote about it, the more compact it becomes, so , briefly, I see soul as a need for acknowledgment of expression of desires, that are related to all sorts of multiple possible solutions of extrapolated possible scenarios bought forward as solutions to be enacted or belief systems to be formed, generated by processes within the imagination and unconscious.

It is the capacity that is the distinct human quality, that allowed us to develop ourselves cultures and technologies the way we did and still do. An animal may hunt with spear, 'make' something, use a tool ... but they do not do this .

So, in a sense, the individual human soul and its function , is like the 'spirit' of Humans . That which holds them special, unique and apart.

So I would answer your question very differently ; the body is one part ( the other parts are not seen as parts of the 'body' ) the mind another , the spirit, the soul

Spirit is fire (individual nature), soul is water (emotional 'body' ) mind is air (intellectual body) and 'body' is earth ( and like a fractal, it goes on down - eg. in body there are four systems ; nerves and signals - fire, circulatory systems - water, respiratory system - air and muscle bone sinews etc - earth.

In Kabbalah ( mystical Judaism ) they see a 4 fold principle in soul - archetypal, creative, formative and physical ( eg, the physical or 'earth level' soul is called 'nephesh' - 'animal soul' . )

So, I wouldnt say the body has parts that include the soul or spirit

I would say, the 'psychic anatomy' includes the body as its 'earth level interface' .... one component. Soul and spirit and other components of the overall being, not components of body.

I'm kind of confused here. Now, you describe basic ways of life and things, in which is from my standpoint, biological. Right? Whether of how we see it as a point of view, I think is a partner to it. My look on this, that is.

As for that point of view, that spirit, the soul, in which I think it seems to be the topic, can we really identify it?

It is something of reflection for me, but just that for now. *shrugs*

One thing I've been taught, is that the Holy Spirit resides in us. All of us. Even the atheists have the Holy Spirit in them. They simply refuse to admit it.

Well, how can you teach everyone it, so it would make sense to everyone? I guess, it would have to look logical to seem that way for all.
Thus, I would agree that there is a body, a soul and a Spirit making up each person.
This reminds me of certain Native American points of views, I have read here and there. In one sense, I can see that. We really cannot know for sure. In another sense, it would only seem that there is one.
I think an atheist would argue there is no soul and no spirit, but that there is awareness... consciousness. Which we might some day detach using technology.

Well, yeah, a consciousness. Although, I have seen it logically concluded as being said a soul, in certain things I have noticed. But I hope it can be seen in the future, using technology......... sure! :D

a old book claims soul is in the blood but look more old T books

Genesis 2:7

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Gen 3:9 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

this child was formed in the body of woman because the woman ate food that will return to dust

otherwise the made the child from the things she ate and formed the child from the things she ate

But the child wanted life outside the woman's body

now lets look at more

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

strong's number spirit G4151

strong's number soul G5590

why did not used the same word here for spirit and soul

like they did this verse

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. the written miss us up my mis tranlation words

We must study every word to know the meaning

Because words can change over time

5. GIRL

Girl once meant a child or young person of either sex. In The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer says of the summoner, “In daunger hadde he at his owene gise/ The yonge girles of the diocise.” In modern English, that’s, “In his own power had he, and at ease/ Young people of the entire diocese.”

7. NAUGHTY

In the 1300s, naughty people had naught (nothing); they were poor or needy. By the 1400s, the meaning shifted from having nothing to being worth nothing, being morally bad or wicked. It could refer to a licentious, promiscuous or sexually provocative person, or someone guilty of other improper behavior. In Sermons preached upon Several Occasions (1678), Isaac Barrow speaks of “a most vile, flagitious man, a sorry and naughty Governour as could be.” But in the same century, “naughty” also had a gentler meaning, especially as applied to children: mischievous, disobedient, badly behaved.

9. PRETTY

In Old English, “pretty” meant crafty and cunning. Later, it took on a more positive connotation: clever, skillful, or able. It could describe something (for example, a speech) cleverly or elegantly made. Perhaps that is how, by the 1400s, the meaning diverted to its present sense: good-looking, especially in a delicate or diminutive way.

the same goes for spirit and soul

Remember English wasnt the language the Bible was written in and it has many versions of translation.

I think to try and understand these concepts and figure out what the above quotes mean from their English will lead to confusion as the English terms come already confused.

You would be better off looking at some Greek words to see how it fits together, for example ' pneuma '

4151 pneúma – properly, spirit (Spirit), wind, or breath. The most frequent meaning (translation) of 4151 (pneúma) in the NT is "spirit" ("Spirit"). Only the context however determines which sense(s) is meant.

[Any of the above renderings (spirit-Spirit, wind, breath) of 4151(pneúma) is always theoretically possible (spirit, Spirit, wind, breath). But when the attributive adjective ("holy") is used, it always refers to the Holy Spirit. "Spirit" ("spirit") is by far the most common translation (application) of 4151 (pneúma).

The Hebrew counterpart (rûach) has the same range of meaning as4151 (pneúma), i.e. it likewise can refer to spirit/Spirit, wind, or breath.]

http://biblehub.com/greek/4151.htm

From there I would go to Hebrew 'Ruach' * .... one of the '4 parts of the soul' I mentioned earlier.

and

Pneuma (πνεῦμα) is an ancient Greek word for "breath", and in a religious context for "spirit" or "soul".[1][2] : [see your quote above - Gen 2:7 ] It has various technical meanings for medical writers and philosophers of classical antiquity, particularly in regard to physiology, and is also used in Greek translations of the Hebrew Bible and in the Greek New Testament.

In classical philosophy, it is distinguishable from psyche (ψυχή), which originally meant "breath of life", but is regularly translated as "spirit" or most often "soul"

" ... For the Stoics, pneuma is the active, generative principle that organizes both the individual and the cosmos.[9] In its highest form, pneuma constitutes the human soul (psychê), which is a fragment of the pneuma that is the soul of God (Zeus)

" In Judaic and Christian usage, pneuma is a common word for "spirit" in the Septuagint and the Greek New Testament. At John 3:5, for example, pneuma is the Greek word translated into English as "spirit": "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit (pneuma), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." In some translations such as the King James version, however, pneuma is then translated as "wind" in verse eight, followed by the rendering "Spirit": "The wind (pneuma) bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit (pneuma)."

- Wiki.

We can see it is still somewhat mixed up , however, I propose ( and I think it is pretty clear ) that

Pnuema - breath, air, mind , 'spirit' .

Psy khe - 'soul'

After all, the story of Psykhe is well, known to be a writing about the soul.

http://www.theoi.com...ios/Psykhe.html

As I said above, its all pretty much been dumbed down in modern pop Christianity , hence your own question about the shuffling of the terms soul / spirit in the English bible.

The Greeks, The hebrews, The Indians ... all have a vast cosmology and complex understanding and categorizing of the human 'psychic anatomy ' .

* here is a good brief writing on it;
