Windows 98/2000

Included with Windows 98/2000 is a program called Trace Route. Open a DOS window and type tracert location name. The location name can be any IP address or number, for example tracert www.unexplained-mysteries.com.

The program will then trace the route from your Internet provider to that location, and show you every computer system along the way.

Watch as you jump from coast to coast and over oceans via satellites and high speed connections instantly. Also very useful for when you can't connect to a site - it will show you if something is down along the way.

The following is the route from my system to www.unexplained-mysteries.com

Tracing route to unexplained-mysteries.com [69.56.130.147]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

In most Unixes (Not the latest Darwin however), if you type in "Bill Gates" in the CLI, it'll ask "kill Gates?"  Then it will say command unknown.  Heheh.

That only works if you have AutoComplete on...and it is supposed to work with other versions of IE not just 6...but for some reason it does and doesn't work sometimes....'cause it's not really about the version of IE you have, it's about the version of Windows you have..
