Paranormalcy Posted November 20, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Why are we voting against a resolution condemning Nazism? There may be a good reason but I don't know what it is. Something in this article was mentioned about the internet - is it because of that? http://russia-insider.com/en/nazis-werent-so-bad-us-canada-ukraine/ri11315
Dark_Grey Posted November 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2015 How many Nazi's are even alive at this point? Let them live out their last few geriatric years - if karma is a real thing, they'll all soon get theirs anyway.
Space Commander Travis Posted November 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2015 If you dare say anything critical of Ukraine the Russia haters (hello bmk) will jump on you, so I'd better not say anything, least of all about the all-but admitted presence of neo-Nazis in the Ukraine puppet regime that came to power in a glorious demonstration of People Power.
Beefers Posted November 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Maybe because the US (and Russia, but they didn't vote against) harbored nazi war criminals, pardoned and used them?

The US and Canada are training the Ukrainian Army, which is highly suspected of containing far-right, neo-nazis-type of groups. http://news.national...n-starting-soon http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/07/04/is-the-u-s-training-neo-nazis-in-ukraine.html Edited November 20, 2015 by Sam. Dark_Grey Posted November 20, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Neo-Nazism is a huge problem. It was on the rise soon after the EU opened it's doors and most definitely after the Paris attack. I can see why they voted against this - there are some questionable, open ended phrases that don't bode well for free speech. In this connection, the 3rd Committee of the General Assembly urged the member-states to adopt the laws necessary for fighting with racism and to continue taking the steps helpful for the prevention of statements powered by hatred or enticements to violence against the members of vulnerable groups. What are the laws necessary to prevent racism? (Is that even possible?) "Prevention of statements"? What kind of double-new-speak is this? The resolution also calls attention to an active use of the Internet for the propaganda of racism and xenophobia and underlines the importance of counteraction to it in the format of law and the International Pact on Civil and Political Rights. They want to control speech across the internet, just as it's being controlled in Universities now. "Hate speech" is the skeleton key that opens all legal doors.

+and-then Posted November 20, 2015 #9 Share Posted November 20, 2015 Ever get the feeling they just want to shut people up no matter if its the truth. When they actually begin locking people up for their speech, there will be violence soon on it's heels.

The UN taking an active role in policing the internet scares the hell out of me. Especially since extreme feminists (SJW's) were given an audience to discuss that very thing. I bet there are very few people here who are aware of that unholy alliance.

It has always been a problem and is on a rise since long before the refugees came.
