dougadam Posted January 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2007 After Nicaea, debates on the subject continued for decades. Those who believed that Jesus was not equal to God even came back into favor for a time. But later Emperor Theodosius decided against them. He established the creed of the Council of Nicaea as the standard for his realm and convened the Council of Constantinople in 381 C.E. to clarify the formula. That council agreed to place the holy spirit on the same level as God and Christ. For the first time, Christendom's Trinity began to come into focus. Yet, even after the Council of Constantinople, the Trinity did not become a widely accepted creed. Many opposed it and thus brought on themselves violent persecution. It was only in later centuries that the Trinity was formulated into set creeds. The Encyclopedia Americana notes: "The full development of Trinitarianism took in the West, in the Scholasticism of the Middle Ages, when an explanation was undertaken in terms of philosophy and psychology" Should You Believe in the Trinity

+Paranoid Android Posted January 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2007 (edited) Normally in this situation, I'd just request you post a source link for your opening post. But considering that I know you received my PM concerning plagiarism, that I sent you the last time you started a topic, I'm afraid this thread will be locked until such time as I receive a PM from you with source material that you are willing to put into your opening post. That aside, you should read the new PM I'm sending you very carefully, and this one, i suggest you do not ignore the way you did my last one.
