Gun control is working.  Maniacs are seeking other means to kill and maim.  Nobody was killed this time but it will only take time for these killers to learn how to effectively kill with a knife.  If this guy had gone for the throat instead of arms and backs, there would have been several deaths.  Even an ice pick to the base of the skull will cripple, leaving a vegetable.

If someone wants to kill someone they will find a way.  Human ingenuity at its worst.

This is an absolute axiom.  One of the few absolutes in life.  Our Founding Fathers understood this and that is why we have the 2nd Amendment.  They took gun control out of the hands of government and put in into the hands of personal responsibility and good judgment and morals.

Actually I would say it is his ingenuity at its best.  It is his intent that is at his worse.

This does not exist in the 21st Century.

'A phantom,' said my Uncle Mycroft, who had just materialised, 'is essentially a heteromorphic wave pattern that gains solidity when the apparition converts thermal energy from the surroundings to visible light. It's a fascinating process and I'm amazed no one has thought of harnessing it - a holographic TV that could operate from the heat given off by an average-size guinea pig.' ~ First Among Sequels, Jasper Fforde

You wouldn't say that if he just saved you from being stabbed to death slowly by a bunch of gang members. In most cases a sane  and calm mind is far more precise at knowing how to kill. Nut jobs don't tend to have a steady hand or calm head.

(I knew you where joking, just used your comment to make a point)

I have several of these in my collection and they're not to be argued with!

If I may, it looks like a Kukri (Ghurka) and may be British Army issue?  I believe that its main purpose was to defeat the shield by giving an angle around the shield.  The notch near the base was used to grip the end of the shield to pull it away.

Okay, Thanks! I've never seen this type of knife before.
Wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of that! Talk about painful....

That downward blade is really lethal. Good for cracking coconuts.... (I mean that as a metaphor... lol)

They are often preferred in jungles to larger machete's because you get more downwards force with a conveniently smaller blade.

Oh that is nice, I would love a Kukri like that in my collection.

I had the honour to serve for 12 years with the Royal Gurkha Rifles.

The 'notch' BTW, is to prevent blood running down the blade and wetting the handle, thus reducing the grip.

In an ideal World a law would be passed were NO guns were allowed and all those out there destroyed, trouble is the law makers are not going to take a risk of trying to pass that without making sure they are armed first.
