I've been sorta searching around here for people who like the kind of music that i do, but it doesn't seem like anyone does. hmm.gif So i was wondering if anyone here likes metalcore music, or grind. Examples of such music would be

Metalcore: Fordirelifesake, The Bled, Everytime I Die, Between the Buried and Me, Zao....etc.

Grind: Psyopus, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Converge... etc.

sooo... anyone here like any of this stuff? i feel alone in this forum when it comes to music. sad.gif

Having never heard of any of these bands, I guess I can say....no.

But as a music enthusiast, I did a google search of Every Time I Die and downloaded a song. The music I like...the screaming vocals I don't. original.gif So, there you go.

haha, everytime i die hardly screams... he yells more because he screwed up his voice on their first cd...joc, fordirelifesake is an awesome band... i think you'd love them if you like ETID's music... just ignore the screaming (he's an awesome screamer btw)

So, I checked out fordirelifesake. Again, I just don't like the screaming. I like the music. But I can't ignore the screaming, yelling what ever you call the vocals. tongue.gif

I never really got into that hardcore punk scene. But thanks for sharing anyway. original.gif

i kinda like Zao. ive heard them plenty of times, but i can never understand what the lead singer is saying. it doesnt really sound like hes saying anything at all. i like other bands like them tho, like As I Lay Dying, Norma Jean and Living Sacrafice.

really? you can't understand Zao? I think Dan is quite easy to understand... The only problem i have with Zao is that their stuff isn't all that special. But dan is a phenominal screamer. I sorta like Norma Jean too...my friend showed me As I Lay Dying... they're alright... Didja know that Zao and Norma Jean are both christian bands?

no Zao isnt really special, because ive heard a lot of bands like them. and about the only words ive ever understood from their music is at one point in a song, i heard him say "small boy".

actualy, i heard their newer album, the Funeral of God or something like that, and it was easier to understand than their past material.

yeah i knew that they were christian bands. actualy, Zao was released from their old label before their ltest cd came out and signed on to a normal label, so technically, theyre not christian anymore.

yeah, that's true... and he does say small boy in one of their songs... haha... i really don't like Funeral of God that much though... I think the name sorta explains why....

well the name doesnt really mean anything to me, since i listen to mostly secular music. read my last post, i edited it, if you havent seen it altready.

well, it's not just the lable they're signed to that makes them christian... taking back sunday isn't a christian band, but they have a christian name, because their guitar player is christian (i was curious... i researched it....) the people in zao are christian, the thing that bugged me about The Funeral of God was all the "well, what if God disapeered, and left us here to rot?" coming from a christian guy. it just upset me a little.

i know, but the label contains mostly christian bands. but i think Zao didnt wanna be christian anymore, so thats why they signed off of the label

i'm not into metalcore, but my brother is. he likes the number twelve looks like you, but i wouldn't consider them grind. grind is like cryptopsy. anyway, he also likes darkest hour, and some other bands.

You all are dumb.

I am a Christian too and the fact that Zao chose to creatively address the fact that we as a race, have neglected God by naming their CD 'The Funeral of God' has not offended me one bit. Actually, it has caused me to look within myself to see how I can get myself closer to God. That is what drives me crazy. People look at lyrics from bands like Zao and will only look skin-deep. They're Christians (yes they are, even though they aren't on a Christian label) but they are also artists. Art is supposed to make the observer examine themselves.

Furthermore, Norma Jean's lyrics aren't Christian? Well you obviously Haven't read the lyrics for Shotgun Message:

Artist: Norma Jean

Album: Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child

Song: Shotgun Message

Staring at the world through the whole you put in my hand.

That was caused by a blade you gently inserted.

I did this for you, not for your religion, not for your patterns.

I did this for you.

I did this for a man like you.

Stop searching and find Me.

I am stabbed by grace and slinging blood.

Wow. If you can't recognize that as Jesus explaining his crucifiction then I guess I am merely casting pearls before swine.

ok, i'm just saying that their (Norma Jean) lyrics aren't openly christian... if someone didn't know they were christian, then i doubt they'd guess from their lyrics....

Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste-

"Mediocrity is the killer.

You find yourself helpless.

Christ is not a fashion, fleeting away."

What else might he be talking about there?

Honestly....
