Gwynbleidd Posted July 20, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2015 Thankyou for posting these. I had not seen the Marree Man or the Richat Structure. Very interesting reading!
Doc Socks Junior Posted July 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2015 The Richat structure is pretty. Word of warning, that image is exaggerated vertically (10x maybe? Ah, 6x.) and false colored. So beautifully symmetrical for an uplifted dome though. Here's another picture of it that came out of the Wiki. I like it a wee bit better. http://asterweb.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery-detail.asp?name=Richat
+Nuclear Wessel Posted July 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2015 These are some pretty interesting figures. I never even knew that some of these existed.
Myles Posted February 15, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2016 Neat stuff. I went home for lunch today and watched a show that talked a little about the "Eye of the Sahara" AKA the Richat Structure. So I had to do a little reading about it. Seems to be formed by wind. The show I watched on the Science Channel made it seem that water was the most likely cause. http://space.gizmodo.com/the-eye-of-the-sahara-is-an-enigmatic-desert-landmark-1607604961
